Great location, not great service

I will start with the positives, the room was nice and comfortable, and the location is fantastic - right next to the Eiffel Tower. That however is where the positives ended. The advertising was (apparently) false, I had asked for a balcony room with view of the tower and was told there was no such room when I got there. Was upset as I had paid a premium for this option. I had some money in the safe which did not open when I came back to the hotel, and I had to call 3 times and wait over an hour for someone to look at the issue, not something I would expect given the money I had spent. We were running short on time so I did not bother resolving this and did not use the safe on my return. The kettle and heater could not work at the same time, when they were both on all electricity went off in the room which was not great. When I called up about this the response was slightly quicker but again not something I expect for the price. Finally the toilet/ shower/ sink need to be updated, the water did not drain well and I do not like to be paddling while in the shower also I should not need to keep hold of the toilet button to flush it - whatever happened to one touch flushes? Finally the taxis outside the hotel did not want to take us to our destination as it was not very far, instead they told us to visit another taxi stand. This is not a complain at the hotel at itself rather an advance warning in case you expect to just get in a taxi and leave from the hotel and have time constraints.

Do not ask for the room with a balcony and view of the Eiffel Tower, you will be paying more for it and the room does not exist. There are rooms with EITHER a balcony OR the view. Keep this in mind when booking.

Ooooo la laaaa Paris

This hotel is undergoing remodeling right now yet still a wonderful choice. GREAT location and even better view of the tower! Bus/train station 2 minutes away. Great customer service. Taxi's always available out front. Just perfect! Didn't eat at the hotel at all because there are lots of cafe's within a 5 minute walk in any direction. Love it love it!!!

Paris

Monica who worked at the front desk was amazing and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we need. Unfortunately, there were some things out of her control. First, our reservation was for a room with a balcony view of the eiffel tower. When we got to our room, there was so balcony or no view. So we went back down and Monica kindly accommodated us and said a room would be ready in a few hours with a view. So we came back at 2 PM as was promised and the room was not ready because it still need to be cleaned. We waited another hour for the room to be ready. The tv in the final room did not work either.

Great location and excellent and courteous staff

Location is about two blocks to the tower and the staff was extremely helpful. Many great Bistros in the area to grab a meal which was needed because the main retaurant was closed for two days for Private Affairs ??? Free internet was very poor and extremely slow and some of the hotel areas looked worn. However, room was very clean and the beds comfortable. I would rate this a 3.5 when compared to a 4 star we stayed at in London which was actually cheaper

Romantic Luxury

We splurged for our last night of our honeymoon at this hotel and it was perfect. The view of the Eiffel Tower cannot be beat, and there are delicious restaurants within a couple of blocks. It was also nice that stores/cafes were open later around here since it is more of a touristy area. However, it is definitely more of a touristy area. We were surrounded by other Americans and travellers in the area, as opposed to feeling more with the locals at our previous hotel in the Opera district. But very clean and modern hotel with views that can't be beat.

Excellent choice!

It can not get any better for the money. The location is excellent (300 yards from metro and a bust stop across the building) and the room is unbelievable big; I came from NY where I paid the same amount for a comparable quality hotel where the room was half the room I had in Paris! I could not believe the room was for an European city. The staff is exceptionally kind and speaks English very well. It is very clean and much into going green. Unlike American hotels, I could not hear a thing from the rooms next door, the walls must be thick and well insulated. One of the neighboring rooms was occupied by a family with two little children and I thought it will be unreasonably loud. It was never the case! I am very happy with the choice!

I didn't know...

just how close this hotel was to the Eiffel Tower! 50 yards! Maybe less. So glad ISG and I got a room at the Pullman. Easy access, obviously, to the ET, which made staying out late convenient and safe, as we didn't have to walk far or take the Metro or RER to get back at 1am. The staff was terrific, polite and very helpful! They spoke English well and were patient when we attempted to speak French. (Especially Jonathan!) Clean, comfortable room. Drainage in the bathtub could have been better, but acceptable. We were amused to see Floor "0" in the elevator -- aka the 1st floor. Nice(!) air conditioning -- which was one of our minimum requirements for a hotel in Paris. Most older hotels don't have AC. Great job, Pullman!

Two nights in Paris

The reception was warm and welcoming. The room was spacious and there was a water heater for coffee and tea. Love that possibility! Comfy beds. We had the best croissants at breakfast! And the goat-milk yoghurt was a first for me. It was yummy. The best of everything was the location: three minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, half an hour to Musee Rodin, etc. Did you know that the Eiffel Tower "sparkles" at midnight? It was awesome to see that from our hotel room. I'll be back!

Order your entrance tickets to the Eiffel Tower on line. Hospitality at Pullman will gladly help you with that! It will save you a couple of hours waiting in the "purchase tickets" line!
