Good Montmartre base
Clean and friendly. The location was good for me being in Montmartre and close to Abbesses and Pigalle metro stations, but steep cobbled streets mean it is no good for anyone with more than minor physical difficulties. The room was tight for space and there is nowhere else other than a small breakfast room - i.e. nowhere to sit and relax.

STAY AWAY!!!
Getting to the hotel was already grueling considering you have to walk a pretty steep hill to get there. That wasn't the worse thing about it however. Location is horrible. The hotel's front door faces a secluded park which is infested with bums and druggies at night, believe me- not a good sight! We paid for the 'superior' suite with a view and got a 10x12 room, bathroom didn't fit 2 ppl. at the same time. Very dirty as well! Me and my husband checked out the very next day even though the stay was already paid for. Absolutely not worth it.

Wonderful hotel with fabulous view!
Our third trip to Paris, and this was our best hotel yet! The staff was great, and the view from our room was incredible. Pay for the superior room with a view and you won't regret it!

An Excellent location
The hotel was in a great location and was exactly what we needed. The room was small, but it was cleaned and the linen was changed daily. I would skip the breakfast and head around the corner for a croissant and coffee. If you do decide to stay here, be prepared to ride the metro a lot or walk a lot, as Montmartre is about half an hour from the major tourist sites. Overall this was a great experience for a week in Paris.

There's a cafe down the street and around the corner from the hotel called Coque Licot or something like that that has great breakfast and pastries.

Good home base for the Paris tourist
Wonderful location, pleasant staff. Rooms are small, but that is to be expected in a old hotel. Enjoyed the breakfast each morning, although 10 euro was kinda high. There was plenty of coffee, bread, juice, cheese, jam and cereals provided. Would chose Montmartre and this hotel again.

Noisy
Wonderful staff, charming location, no tub, noisy especially on weekends. Could hear morning trash trucks and lots of motorcyclists.

Value seeker finds charm as well
This is really a nice hotel for the price and location but repairs are needed. Bathroom fixtures were falling off the wall, moldy bathroom ceilings, cracked tile, etc.

Excellent
We got a great deal on this hotel and it is in a great location. The neighborhood is cute. It is really close to the metro and you can walk a short distance to the Sacre Coeur which has great views of the city. The staff was very nice and friendly and helped us with whatever we needed.

There's a wonderful little bakery on the corner across from the hotel. The bread and pastries are delicious and the staff are wonderful when your French is not serving you well. Or you could walk up the hill towards Sacre Coeur and grab a crepe. Yum. Also, the Cafe des deux Moulins (the cafe from Amelie) is nearby and they have an excellent creme brulee.
