This is an excellent hotel for all travelers who are looking for a spacious, well-equipped hotel room in the historical center of Berlin, with enough spare cash left to explore the vast choice of restaurants in the Germany's capital. 0508/UL The building has a rather plain facade and looks a bit clinical. Only a one-minute walk from the centre of the East - the Alexanderplatz - this hotel enjoys an excellent location and is well connected to public transportation. All historical sights, like Museum's Island, Berliner Dom and the Opera House, are within walking distance of the hotel.

All rooms are very spacious and have been recently renovated. They are decorated in warm colours and are equipped with all modern amenities, including like TV, radio and telephone. Both rooms and bathrooms are in excellent condition. Double rooms are equipped with two single beds pushed together.

Great location near Alexanderplatz,

Great location near Alexanderplatz, spacious room, nice to have a balcony, breakfast satisfactory (but european standard so not really a criticism) and hotel staff friendly. Only negative aspect is we didnt get sheets cleaned or towels changed on one of the days we were there but that wouldnt detract me from recommending this hotel as good value for money.

older hotel, not the greatest but cheap

Went there for just one night. Arrived checked in after 600pm. The room smelled and was not cleaned. Bed unmade, bathroom, not cleaned (hair all over), and trash not taken out. Told staff and they gave us there what I would say is there best room without and question. They gave us no problems with dirty room. The "best room" was a living room, Huge bed room and 2 balconies. It is very much an older building that was probbly appartments before, very east side germany feel. The room still smelled bad. Just for some where to crash not bad, though. Huge room by any standard, the big room they upgraded us too. You could have put a family of 6 in there.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Just around the corner great steak house, super cheap 50% off all meals. Really, really good food. Advertised at hotel. Steaks good ones for like 6,50E. Pizza and pasta 4E.

Very big room and in a great location,

Tired converted apartment block

Tired converted apartment block from East Berlin. Kitchen in room had no utensils or crockery whatsoever. Breakfast ok if you can get in front of the crowd. Handy to U-barn and S-barn.

Although rooms were smoke free,

Although rooms were smoke free, coridors always were smelled cigaret smoke. wireless internet access in rooms was not free .

A superb Hotel in an interesting

A superb Hotel in an interesting location. I have no real criticism but on observation, while my room was perfect to sleep in along with a lovely en-suite and balcony looking out towards Alexanderplatz, the carpet needed replacing as it was quite shabby. However I would still recommend this Hotel and if available I would go back there.
