Conveniently-located Berlin hotel with fine dining and cigar bar
Since 1929, the Savoy Berlin has been the choice of guests who appreciate refined style and gracious hospitality. Celebrities such as Greta Garbo and Thomas Mann were regular guests. Located near the Berlin Zoo and the Kurfürstendamm, the hotel also is near many of Berlin's famous landmarks. Guests dine at the Restaurant Weinrot, enjoy drinks at the Times Bar and appreciate Cuban cigars at the Casa del Habano. - All Comfort Rooms are ca. 15-20 sq. m. and feature dark wooden furniture that forms a pleasing contrast to the soft yellow of the walls. The Savoy Berlin provides two conference rooms and a salon which is connected with the restaurant Weinrot. The Gartensalon is situated on the upper ground floor, has a size of 63 sqm and can accommodate up to 60 persons. The Salon Bellevue is situated on the sixth floor, has a size of 56 sqm and can accommodate up to 30 persons. "Ok" hotel
We booked the room with high speed internet (extra charge) but we could hardly get any connection and had to reboot the computer every 5-10 min. Same with cell phones. Rooms are small but ok, need updating but they're clean. Old fashioned bedding, not super comfy. A little noisy cuz it's right by the railway station and a major street. I would not pick that hotel again for our next stay. Not worth 4 stars. Maybe 2,5.

Not for non-smokers!!
This hotel was in a great location, the staff friendly and all spoke very good English and the bedrooms large with a wonderful newly fitted bathroom. HOWEVER the wonderful bar we read about, which sells Cuban cigars in the shop located within, is also a smoking lounge! I thought I had missed this but when I looked at the review on return it mentions nothing about it being a smoking bar. If you are a smoker then great but for non-smokers, quite frankly the place stunk and stale cigar smoke is not good. Even our bedroom was a smoking room so you had the lingering smell. The hotel has very few non-smoking rooms on the top floor. We met up with my brother and family here and we had to sit in the foyer to have a nightcap, not brilliant, hardly cosy as is was chilly from the main door opening and closing. Please don't think I'm just wringing here, the hotel has many plus sides and if you smoke then great, my main gripe as it was never advertised as such and if you are a non-smoker then this is a big deal.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, the bathroom as well. The wifi was very reliable. The location is fantastic, within walking distance of the Kurfurstendamm and the TU Berlin.

Special holiday with my husband
We were so disappointed on arrival at the hotel. Definelty not a "4 Star" and staff were not helpful at all. Our bag had not arrived on the flight, so arrival at the hotel at 1400 hrs to check in, they said they had no rooms available and to come back in an hour. The hotel was very quiet so I can't believe they had nothing to offer !!. When we did get a room, it was tiny, no air conditioning, no tea/coffee making facilities, instead they offer a free bottle of water - WOW !!

Almost there!
This hotel needs a good fitness room with weights/upper-body conditioning opportunities and really needs in-room coffee/microwave and fridge for personal items. But the place was great and staff excellent. Almost perfect!

Loved It
Great location. Friendly staff. Clean & updated. The breakfast buffet was lovely & luxurious but expensive at $30(US) per person. The bed was comfortable & the bathroom was extremely clean & all in great working order. The room furniture was a little old but fine. Could have used a clock/alarm but the wakeup call worked fine. Would surely stay here again.

Savigny Platz, just a short walk away has a large number of good restaurants. Had German, Italian, Spanish Tapas & Vietnamese all affordable & good quality right in that area. Also, a coffee & croissant for breakfast under 5 euro.

Excellent (but pricey) breakfast, very good restaurant, interesting bar, which also serves as a haven for cigar smokers. This is a hotel we'd like to come back to.
