Good value, nothing special

The location of the hotel is in Charlottenburg and not Mitte. Not a big deal since it's easy enough to get around the Berlin by jumping on the U or S-Bahn. Nothing really special. Just a solid room at a solid price.

OK

Overall thr hotel was OK; first impressions were good, although the lack of air-con was a surprise. The rooms are clean, although they do smell somewhat of old cigarette smoke. The staff were pleasant but at times officious and the waiting staff at breakfast seemed barely able to cope; however my main gripe was that the room we reserved and poaid for in advance was in fact not available; we were given a smaller room without the promised amenities; when I raised the issue I was offered a bit of an apology, but only after pressing was I offered a refund. We were due to stay for 3 nights, so we were given what we had originally requested foir the third night. The hotel was going to charge us the going rate for that, but after some negotiation, considering that this was their error and not ours, that last night was charged at the cheaper rate as well; however, as a parting shot I was charged an extra 3 Euros for the glass of water I requested in reception. DOMICIL has the potential for being great with an absolutely wonderful location, but it needs the staff to realise that flashy smiles need to be backed up by a genuine willingness to see things from the customer's point of view.

Great value

Hotel was right next to the S Bahn. Bus to downtown area and attractions stops right in front of hotel. About 5 minute ride. Hotel has no A/C (like many places in Europe)

Hotel was adjacent from a pedestrian shopping district. Also, I would recommend having dinner on the hotels rooftop terrace, great view over the roofs of Berlin during a sunset

Take the S-bahn or the U-bahn, it's very easy and close.

Very nice, but some street noise

Since the hotel is located near a busy intersection, ask for a higher floor room if you want more quiet. Unfortunately, the highest floor rooms are not non-smoking. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and patiently answered several questions from us stateside visitors. The room was bright and airy with expansive windows, large bathroom. It also had a kitchenette.

Dining tip: In Hotel

We had the breakfast buffet at the hotel which was a little pricey but worth doing once especially on a nice day. All of our other meals during our three night stay were attended elsewhere.
