All around the InterContinental Frankfurt are striking contrasts for which the city is known: towering skyscrapers next to cosy pubs, a global financial centre minutes from the old town’s village charm and exclusive shopping streets adjacent to historic churches and museums. St Paul’s Church, the Römer and Frankfurt Cathedral are just steps away.

Excellent location - 5 minutes

Excellent location - 5 minutes walk from main railway station and 10 minutes from old city centre. Room was a little stuffy as air conditioning is set at 18C for winter. Only 2 computers in business centre so you may have to wait to gain access.

Very nice hotel with good location

Very nice hotel with good location close to the fair facilities and main station. Rooms are nice and clean. The only problem was that the temperature in the room was far too hot and it was not possible to adjust it. The only way was to open the window but then the trafic outside disturbed sleeping. Also minibar was not operating.

Solo Business Traveler

I was in Frankfurt as a solo business traveler. I wanted to be close to the Hauptbahnhof and the attractions such as the waterfront, Dom Romer, and Zeil. The location is perfect - just 2-ish blocks from the main train station and no need to cross major intersections. I had a great view of the city from the 16th floor. The room was clean and decently-sized with ample desk space, drawer space, and closet space. The staff was very helpful and kind. The bar was pretty good - when there are conferences in town it gets pretty full! The lobby has wireless and there's plenty of room to sit. The only somewhat negative thing is it seemed to take a while to check-in and out. I don't know if this was due to the computers or to the travelers bu I waited in line for no less than 15 minutes each time and it wasn't busy.

business trip

Stayed there the night before my flight back to the US. Very convenient location and always have taxis on hand. Not as cool/trendy as some of the newer hotels that popped up in the same area, but definitely great service. Another plus: everything is in English.

Everything in a simple package

The key moment came when I was packing up, and wanted to avoid the toothpaste mess I faced when unpacking the last time. I stood in the bathroom, thinking "I wish I could find a small plastic bag for my toothpaste." I spied a little hole out of the corner of my eye, and in that hole were small plastic bags! The hotel simply anticipated the needs of travelers. Plenty of hangers for cloths, lights came on automatically when you needed them to, plugs were located on the TV right next to the desk. The internet options were clear, including free wireless in the lobby. The water pressure was great. A spoon for my yogurt. I called for a wake-up call, and a human voice reassured me that it would happen. Not only did it, but it was a real human wishing me a good morning! The room was not a swank affair, by any means, but what made it special was the forethought and the service. A great stay.

Money-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If like me, you find yourself wanting more than 3 hours of internet (which is free in the lobby), there is a wireless provider up the street where you can rent an internet stick for 30 Euros for the week. Cheaper than the hotel rate of 20 Euros per day in the room.

Great trip

Hotel room was small, but comfortable. We were in a standard room and there just wasn't anything spectacular. The rooms were very HOT. We could not turn the air on and the hotel kept the rooms at over 80 degrees. Otherwise, the room was comfortable. The food in the hotel was delicious, but very expensive.
