The A&O City Hauptbahnhof is situated close to the main railway station of Hamburg. The hotel is the ideal starting point for trips to the city or in the nearby surroundings. The "Binnenalster"(a right tributary of the river Elbe), the historic Speicherstadt (the biggest warehouse complex built on oak pales) and the picturesque Old Town of Hamburg can be reached in a few minutes. The establishment offers hotel and hostel rooms placed on different floors. Towels and bed linen are not included in the price of a hostel shared room. Those who come alone or travel on business can stay in single or twin bed rooms. All of them offer plenty of light and are modern equipped. They come with a shower and WC, as well as television. Additionally, each room provides a hairdryer. The family rooms are a very good choice for families with 2 children. The hotel offers most of all shared rooms and is thus an economical solution for big groups.In the lobby One will find internet access via WLAN or internet terminals as well as a souvenir shop. The competent personnel would be happy to recommend the numerous sights and helps to buy tickets or theatre tickets. Relax in the recreational area with its pool tables, table football and computer game consoles. Enjoy a refreshing drink at the Astra Bar.

a quasi hotel/hostel

Not much of an experience, but it is fairly close if you know what direction it is in. Not the most elegant room pretty simple, but two satisfactory beds, and solid shower unit.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

you will a specific company that looks like a car company and starts with S... go down that road to the left facing away from HBF(train station). It is about a block or so away and you need to take one more left, you should be able to see an underpass, and a A&O hotel sign on the right hand side.

Good price-quality ratio. Location

Good price-quality ratio. Location about 15-20 min walk to centrum. Breakfast room was always crowded of people and noisy. There was also some problems with the key cards...All in all, rooms were simple but ok, staff was friendly. I recommend this hotel for budget tourists.

Dienstpersonal an der Rezeption

Dienstpersonal an der Rezeption ist ab 22.00 Uhr sehr unfreundlich. Benötigte für 12 Jähriges Kind ein Alkoholfreies Getränk, welches trotz vorhandener Bar verweigert wurde. Begründung: "Habe die Barkasse bereits abgerechnet, und will nicht nochmals Beleg erstellen". Bei Zimmer Bezug war ursprüngliches Zimmer EISKALT, da Oberfenster kaputt, Zimmer wurde sichtlich seit letztbesuch WEDER gesäubert, NOCH kontrolliert, da sonst das kaputte Fenster aufgefallen sein würde. Fazit: In dieses Hotel werde ich sicher NICHT mehr kommen.

Nice Hotel in the city centre.

Nice Hotel in the city centre. Rooms are clean and well furnished and the breakfast was great. Would stay there again every time.

Das Hotel ist veher als HOSTEL

Das Hotel ist veher als HOSTEL zu bezeichnen und wird auch überwiegend von Schulgruppen besucht. Dementsprechend ist auch der Geräuschpegel in den allgemeinen Bereichen - so lange man selbst Zimmer im obersten Stockwerk bekommt ist das aber auch nicht das Problem. Nur ein Kasten und nur 4 Kleiderbügel sind allerdings in einem Cityhotel - falls man eben auch berufliche Termine wahrnehemen möchte - für die Garderobe unzureichend. Die Sauberkeit ist ok - Safe gibt es am Zimmer keinen und die Gepäckaufbewahrung im Hotel findet einfach in einem eigenen Raum statt, in den jeder sein Gepäck einfach einstellt und wieder heraus holt. Erzeugt kein Gefühl der Sicherheit. Durch die zentrale Lage und den sehr günstigen Preis wird jedoch vieles wieder ausgeglichen.
