In 1875 the licensed house Zum Deutschen Kaiser was opened in the countrified property of the Muehltalstrasse No 41 in Heidelberg-Handschuhsheim. This happened at that time in honor of the birthday of imperator Wilhelm I. After a couple of changes of ownership and turbulent times we have taken over the Deutscher Kaiser after a complete restoration in the summer 2007. Today the 3 Star Deutscher Kaiser offers 17 comfortable equipped studios and hotel rooms as well as an elegant cafe bar. Each of the rooms has its own individual charm with pleasant coloring. The light rooms with high ceilings produce a relaxing atmosphere complementing the subtle intimacy of our house. Visit the Deutscher Kaiser for your Heidelberg holidays. The Deutscher Kaiser is situated in a quiet location and provides easy access to the historical heart of Heidelbergs romantic quarter Handschuhsheim. The hotel has on site parking at a cost of 6 EUR per night. Additional Information; Children age 4 and under stay free in the room with parents and in existing bedding. Children over this age will be considered an adult. The hotel reserves the right without prior notification to cancel any reservation with an invalid or incomplete credit card number.

Excellent Lodging and Helpful Innkeeper

Situated in a charming section of the beautiful city of Heidelberg, The Deutscher Kaiser room we had was very clean and spacious, with plenty of room for the three of us. The hotel is a short walk to bus and tram stops. The Innkeeper was very helpful with great information about the city and traveling within it. We would absolutely stay there again. the breakfast was typically German and very good.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Leave your car in the parking courtyard in the hotel and take the tram into the old city center. Walk along the pedestrian-only streets there for terrific shopping and great restaurants.
