Great Location!

The hotel is across from Munich's Central Railstation. It is easy transportation to and from the airport. Marienplatz is an easy walk and very accessible for dinners and shopping. Third time staying in this hotel. Prices are reasonable if booked online.

Easy access from train station, but very disappointing

Located directly across the street from both the main train station on one side, and strip clubs and sexshops on the other, this is a very nice business hotel that might be just fine for passing through town but is wholly lacking as a destination. Flanked on all sides by a seemingly endless red light district and down the street from many youth hostels, you will be literally surrounded by rowdy drunken fratboys of all ages from the UK, Italy, and Russia. To be avoided, unless binge drinking is high on your list.

Comfortable and convenient...but..

Pleasant staff, nice room, and great central location. Not really 5 star though, more like a 4. One BIG gripe was the lack of free wifi internet for guests. A charge of 6 euros for 30 minutes ?!. Really sort it out, there is no excuse for charging for internet access in 2012. Every cafe around you offers it for free when you buy a coffee !.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Try 'Glockl an Dom', Traditional Bavarian restaurant beside the Frauenkirche church, on a little street parallel to Kaufinegerstrasse, the main shopping street. Fantastic food, cosy interior, friendly chatty locals, and good value. Will be back !.

Great place to stay!

It's right across from the main train station, a short walk to everything, and is a great upscale hotel without being stuffy. As we were in Munich in January, the hot tub and indoor pool were both very nice after sightseeing all day in the snow!! The concierge is very knowledgeable and makes great recommendations on tours, restaurants, etc. We loved our stay and would definitely stay here again. We were thrilled to have an almost average size room as we would get at a hotel in the U.S., which is unexpected in Europe! Wonderful!

There is a hop on/off bus tour that goes all around the city center, and also out to further locations like the Olympic Park and BMW headquarters and museum. It's great!

Location!

The hotel is in an excellent location-a 5 min walk to a vibrant train station. You can easily get to/from the airport and to many historical sights. Also, the station is a great place to eat/shop. Although the room was very clean, I was disappointed that the housekeeping entered my room repeatedly while I had the Do Not Disturb sign posted. There is no excuse for this. I reported this to the front desk and felt certain that they followed through, but still the HK staff entered. I was surprised that Le Meridien-Munich is listed as a 5 star hotel. There are few amenities, the lighting is poor, the bed was very hard, and wireless internet is not available in the room. However, the room was clean, and that is the most important. I would stay there again.

Great place to stay during Oktoberfest

This hotel is really in a perfect location for all of the Oktoberfest festivities. The staff is friendly and courteous and the hotel is clean and fun. The bar itself is a bit pricey (30 euros for 2 glasses of white wine and a bottle of water). Book early cause it gets very expensive!!!

Functional

Good location and the rooms were a reasonable size and clean / neat. The restaurant was particularly good. Negatives were Internet access (only at a cost and wireless coverage was poor)and were relatively expensive for what was provided. We had two rooms for three nights as part of a two week vacation in Europe.
