Regent Hotel

this hotel is specialized in lodging groups of foreign tourist groups. As it is these are often dropped late in the evening and depart at 5 a.m. Room doors are spartanic and do not stop the loud voices from the elevator and in the corridor. No safebox in the room.

It's a short walk from the rail station, and near a tram stop, so location is handy. Despite being near the station our room was quiet. We walked to the Marienplatz in about 20 minutes The staff were courteous and helpful. We had a small problem with the shower over the weekend - they told us it couldn't be fixed until the Monday, but in fact it was repaired the same day. I noticed other reviews of this hotel mentioned poor wifi, but ours was fine. There's rather a good reasonably priced Persian restaurant a few doors up Seidlstrasse. We didn't avail ourselves of the hotel breakfast, which cost 16 euros - you can get a good hearty breakfast in a cafe or Konditorei in town for about 10 euros All in all this hotel was a good choice for a weekend break in Munich.

I got a reservation about 1 hour after landing in Germany. Great location, it's right around the corner from a major transport hub. Nightlife and bars all within walking distance. Wild definitely stay again. And the bakfast wasn't bad either.

Good central location, 5 mins walk from Hauptbanhof. Clean, friendly, good breakfast, free WiFi in room and PC with printer in lobby. An excellent base for visiting exhibitions at the Messe. Would have been good if the resident's bar stayed open later.

If you are travelling for business or for leisure and you need Internet connection, this hotel is not for you. The internet connection is so poor. Its hard to connect and the very very slow. The carpet and furnitutres are so old and looks dirty. I stayed 4 nights in this hotel but they didnt even change my bedsheets, pillow case and cover even once.. They just fold it back but never change at all. In the room that I stayed, no mini bar. The breakfast is OK but the menu is the same EVERYDAY. So if you stay 1 week, you will have the same breakfast for 7 days. :-) The 14 inches old TV set doesnt offer any English program. Its all in german. What is good in this hotel is the location. Its very near to all tourist sights. You can go by foot most of the places. The main central terminal which is connected to the airport is just 5 minutes walk.

Simple, clean 80s style hotel. Basic room but very spacious. Breakfast quite expensive for what it is but a good spread.

Our room was very dated and was located directly across the street from the train station. Noise is a problem if you need to open the windows - which we did. Not only could we hear the trains all night, but the announcements. Noise was not present when windows were closed. Breakfast consisted of traditional Bavarian dishes - very adequate. Staff were helpful and spoke excellent english. Parking garage is a real plus. Ten minute walk to main shopping area and center of town.

Overall, this hotel was OK. The buffet breakfast was very good with bread, meat, cheese, cereal, yogurt, and hot items also. It was very close to the main train station as well as public transportation subways and trams which was also great. However, I wasn't that impressed with the rooms. Ours was slightly dark, not super clean looking, and had no air-conditioning. It was comfortable enough since we just used it to sleep, but I wouldn't tell anyone that it was 4 star.

Hotel location is convenient but room was small. Wireless internet is free but too slow. Breakfast was not bad.

We stayed three nights. The hotel has a great location, was reasonably priced, relatively clean, and the front desk staff were quite helpful. Shower was nice with good pressure, room was quiet - no complaints. But my one complaint was the wifi internet service. We had a very difficult time getting reception in our room and so had to go to the lobby to get it. Apparenlty other guests were having trouble as well because while we were in the lobby they were calling the front desk. The staff seemed surprised so I don't know if this was a fluke or not but beware.
