Nice hotel, at convenient location
Nice hotel, at convenient location (near Metro station). Nicer than the other two hotels that we stayed in Athens, both are also near Metro stations. Breakfast is continental buffet breakfast, which is not bad. The toilet was very clean, compared to other hotels that we stayed in Athens and Istanbul. It's quiet at night even it's next to a quite busy road.

Decent enough.
The breakfast was quite good (bread, meats & cheeses, eggs, yogurt etc.), but the bed was hard (cardboard hard, though it's a double), the shower was tiny (I couldn't fit and the water sloshed all over the place-but if you're use to Italian hotels, this shouldn't bother you), it can get occasionally loud, and there was construction (I believe they are fixing the showers). It's a working-class neighborhood, lots of stores around it, you can hear the traffic (it's pretty loud), but it's convenient to the tourist areas (about a 10-minute walk).

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Strangely enough, it seemed that the shops toward the left (near the changing of the guard) seemed cheaper than most places near Hadrian's Library. But, there's more charm near those....

Very basic hotel but great staff
A basic hotel, but very clean. Breakfast was VERY basic as well and not a hot buffet as advertised. The staff on reception were very helpful. The location was not very good and felt very unsafe walking around. It was OK if you are just using the hotel as a base and then getting onto the Metro to explore the rest of the beautiful city.

The hotel is good, but the beds
The hotel is good, but the beds were too narrow (80 cm. wide, I guess). The bathroom was very clean but very uncomfortable. The staff is very kind.

A good hotel very close (2 minute
A good hotel very close (2 minute walk) to a Metro stop. The rooms were comfortable and quiet; even though the hotel is next to a busy road. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The area around the hotel also seemed safe enough at night. Our only gripe was that the breakfast wasn't up to much, but we would stay here again.

Good value city centre hotel
For a city centre hotel & at the price paid it doesn't get a lot better. Away from the dodgier Omonia area & only only 150 metres from the metro. The rooms are a little dated & the shower compact but perfectly comfortable for a short break. Staff were friendly & helpful. Athens is a raucous place & the hotel couldn't be described as peaceful but is not overly noisy. Fridge, safe & aircon in room were great bonuses & worked well. Breakfast was basic, but more than adequate, with canned peaches, honey & Greek yoghurt; ham, cheese & boiled eggs; cheap corn flakes, bread & jam; tea coffee & watery orange juice - more than enough until you've descended the Acropolis & need to seek out Tzatziki & Greek salad for lunch in the Plaka!

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
Eat in the atmospheric Plaka district 15 minute walk or less than 10 minute metro ride away & not too expensive. Flea market there is not too expensive with a bit of haggling

The Professor
You Get What You Pay For...
The view from the rooftop is amazing! You can see the entire city and some amazing sunsets while having a drink and/or dinner. I have to say that this was one of the best parts of my stay at the hotel. The bartender and the cook (young man and young woman) were my 'best friends' during my visit! They both made me feel at home and gave me great advice and insight into Greece and Greek culture. Since I travelled alone, I looked forward to their company each evening. Honestly, without the two of them, well, I probably would have switched hotels after the first night! The two of them make that place what it is! I would hire either one of them to work for me if I owned a hotel. The woman who tends the front desk in the afternoons was also very friendly and very helpful! She answered all of my questions about directions and places to go and did so with a friendly smile and in near perfect English! She was great! The woman who tends the desk in the mornings, unfortunately, was not at all friendly. She was "too busy" as she said, to help me with directions, but then quickly drew lines on map just to get me out the door. If I owned a hotel, I would NOT want her greeting my customers! She needs to work on her people skills. She had little patience and when she did talk to me, it was not at all sincere. I did not find her personality, thankfully, to be the same among the Greeks. The hotel is in not in the greatest location as far as asthetics is concerned. You have to walk past some pretty horrible sights to get to it. I discovered, however, that that is the case in most of Athens. The location near the Metro was a HUGE HELP. Would I stay there again...probably not, unless, of course, the people who I mentioned favorably were still working there. Oh, and if you think you're getting a slamming breakfast in the morning, think again. It was not at all like those I've had in other countries. The Germans and the Poles have this place beat hands down!

Sightseeing tip:
Short walk from hotel
Because this hotel is so close to the Metro, you can get to just about every part of Athens with little or no trouble. I would stay near a metro if I were you. It saves time and money. It's cheap, clean, and runs like clockwork! Don't buy any of those pre-packaged tour trips. Do your homework and research where it is you want to go and then do it on your own. You save a lot of money and can do things at your own pace. That's what I did.
