Family vacation The best 2 star hotel in athens off top.
The hotel was great. The staff was friendly. Needs to offer Lunch and Dinner, but the breakfast was good also. Close to everything walking distance to all the sights. But if you do not like walking it is right on the bus route. Close to restaurants and a corner store right across the street. I love the smiling restaurant right across the street excellent service and they do have free wi-fi.

The room was basic but clean,
The room was basic but clean, as a single traveller this was ideal for me. The barman was very friendly and had very good local knowledge of the locale and of the people, and some interesting stories too. The gentleman on the reception desk was like an old friend, nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was very patient with my rudimentary Greek and often helped me out with my back to front sentences. The hotel was near to Omonia and therefore close to all the local places of interest. Although Omonia can seem to be a bit intimidating, just take the normal precautions and everything will be fine. There are police at every corner around the area and no-one is actually coming up to you and being threatening. I got a good rate on the room and would recomend it to anyone. Enjoy Athens!

It is okay hotel for the price
The hotel is indeed very close from the center of city, however, the area is pretty ghetto... Compare to the price, it is good hotel. Staffs are friendly, free wifi every room, and they have 2 computers on the lobby/bar area, and you can use them for free. The nearist subway station is 10-15 minute by walk.

This hotel had the basic things
This hotel had the basic things that you need and no more. the breaky is ok, the usual bread, cheese, jam, cornflakes and coffee. It is pretty close to the attractions, a 10 min walk to monostiraki. There are hookers all around this area so definately not for families!! Would probably find another hotel next time.

October 2010 Athens Vacation
We enjoyed our 10-day stay at the Aristoteles Hotel. It was an ideal location for us - we wanted a reasonable, low cost, nice hotel with a good central location, and got it. From the Aristoteles we took day trips out to the various sites - Delphi, Acropolis, Temple of Poseidon Sounion, Acropolis Museum, National Archaeological Museum, Temple of Zeus Olympios, as well as a two nights on the island of Paros. Yes - we paid for two hotels during this time which was easily worth it - Aristoteles was under $40 per night, a very good value. Room was clean with TV, bath & shower, hair drier, refrig tucked in the closet, air conditioner, and wooden 'pull down' shades to block light and sound. Helpful main desk man - explained how to catch buses, scheduled cab to airport, etc. Those wishing to spend time in a luxury hotel should find their four or five star hotel.

Bring a lunch with you when visiting outlying sites like Delphi and Sounion. Food was much more expensive there.

The people really cared
The people were friendly and helpful. For the very low price, I did not expect anything more than a few smiles, however they would help with directions, give suggestions and usually ask if there was something more that they could do. They tried to keep the place clean.

Short walk from hotel
When you leave the hotel in the evening, be very careful where you keep your wallet. The first few blocks have a few "professionals," working that area.
