Good hotel, overall
We liked the location. There is a coffee shop across the street and an ATM around the corner. It is a short walk to the Plaka and all the monuments, etc. The staff was very helpful. The rooftop bar / restaurant had a direct stunning view of the acropolis, especially at night- awesome. Drinks were expensive, but the view and piano player made it worth a visit!!! The only thing we would have liked would be to get a double bed instead of 2 singles. Overall, we would stay there again.

Check on local strike schedules. Air traffic controller, taxi, and metro strikes are frequent these days. Some of our group got stranded in greece for 2 or 3 extra days.

Great location
We stayed only one night but wish we could have stayed longer. It was a great location just below the Acropolus. We walked up a side street to get to the walkway that goes almost all the way around the Acropolus. From there you go upwards to the top.You need to buy a ticket to get to the top but it is good for several other sites and these are also mainly within walking distance of the hotel. There are numerous good eateries within 10 minutes walk. The hotel is very clean and modern and the desk personnel were very helpful.

Location is close to attractions & Metro
Adventuring and exploring Athens, Greece for the first time, this hotel is a good location. Walking distance to the Sigro-Fix Metro Stop & Acropolis, Plaka and Syntagma. The staff spoke english and very accommodating & helpful most especially in assisting me arranged tours to see the city. The breakfast was wonderful. Overall, I will definitely come back to stay here again.

Shipping is very expensive. Take the advice of the concierge and buy a cheap suitcase in the Plaka ($20.00) and be prepared to pay the $50 airline fine. Will be a bargain compared to shipping rates quoted.

Great Stay
Athenian Callirhoe was a great hotel. The room itself and gym were adequate, but the service and hotel rooftop restaurant and bar were unbeatable. This hotel is just a few blocks (five minute walk) from the Acropolis, but is far enough away to not be crowded with tourists. We had a week stay and felt at home here. While a small feature, having a free hotel water cooler was necessary in the heat and saved us money and time in not searching for water. The hotel provided an electrical adapter in the room and at times let us use the Internet for free. Our last night we ate at the rooftop restaurant and wished we had done it sooner and more often. The view of the acropolis was spectacular and the hotel environment was magical. One thing missing form this hotel was a pool. Although we went to be tourists and not necessarily to rest at a pool. It was hot and walking much of the city, it would have been nice to come back to the hotel and refresh ourselves in a pool. We saved the last three says of our trip for lounging on Santorini and we knew we would get our pool time later in our trip, so we didn't mind this missing amenity.

Great location for a reasonable price!!!
My husband and I stayed in Greece for over a week. The hotel was in an ideal location to the acropolis and the plaka. The staff was multilingual which was a plus!! The stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The staff helped us book our tours and also gave us directions to get around the city. They also went out of their way to book us a private car to the airport since there was a taxi strike. I enjoyed the daily breakfast at the hotel also. The only negative was that the room was small and we didnt get a room with a balcony. I would stay again!!

Athenian Callirhoe Review
I was in Athens for only a week to visit friends and chose this hotel for its location. It was close enough to the Plaka (either walking or by Metro) and an easy Mero ride to Syntagma, etc. But, the room was quite stuffy and hot. Also, though the room was clean and fresh, the bed was hard and the sheets were very rough . . But, the pillows were very comfortable. The breakfast was a good deal and quite tasty. Overall, it was not too bad for the money.
