Fantastic Athens
Perfect location within walking distance of all the famous sites. Staff was very helpful in answering questions about the area and making recommendations. View of the Parthenon from the roof garden is fantastic.

Short Walk from Great Sights
Quant, Great Location
Traveling with friends to Athens for the night. Good hotel for the price. Very friendly staff! Walking distance to Acropolis, shopping, 2 Metro stops. Great view of Acropolis at night.

Great Hotel - Centrally Located
Hotel was in a great location and had a terrific rooftop! We enjoyed the breakfast and the staff was very nice. I would definitely recommend!

Had the best view of the Acropolis from the roof garden of anything in the area. Staff were very helpful with suggestions and travel arrangements.

Good location. Nice view of Acropolis
The room was ordinary. The rooftop had a nice view of the Acropolis. The front desk people were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was empty and no one around to assist for breakfast so walked out.

Check hours by calling the Archaelogical Museum before going there. Place closed at 1500 even though online and guide book said it would be open until 1900.

Good location, poor maintenance
Athens Central Hotel is located close to the Acropolis on a narrow side street. My wife and I had a mixed reception on arrival with the head clerk being quite curt while the second clerk was more pleasant. Our room was on the third floor and the elevator holds 3 people and was no bigger than a phone booth, so beware. From then on we took the stairs. The hallway rug to our room was visibly dirty and upon entering our small room the sizal rug had eye catching big stains. The bathroom was tiny and in the shower we found what appeared to be black mould at the bottom of the walls and around the fixtures. Not healthy. On the positive side, the roof garden had amazing views of the Acropolis at sunset and the breakfasts were pleasant with helpful staff. We stayed two nights at the end of September 2010 and passed on these comments to management. In short, this hotel does have a central location but is in serious need of better maintenance.
