Greek Traveller
Perfect Location
Staff very friendly and helpful. He spoke perfect English and provided invaluable information. For an European hotel, room was very nice and the location extremely close to all attractions. I'd definitely stay at the Economy Hotel again.

Short drive from hotel
Use the subway from the airport. Only 6 euros and very easy to use and clean and safe. Be sure to exit on to Athinas Str. If not, no big deal, hotel was easy to find.

Great place to stay
This hotel was a very pleasant surprıse for us as we had stayed in another Athens hotel and realized that much of the area was no so great. But this hotel (although across from a sex theater) was clean and comfortable. Obviously you get what you pay for and compared to a fıve star hotel thıs does not have many ammenities but for the prıce we could not have asked for more. Staff was frıendly, place was clean, computers were free, breakfast was good, and a close walk to the metro. We would defınıtely stay agaın!

Passport in my Pocket
A Great Place to Stay!
We were traveling with my 20 year old daughter, so the room was a little cramped with three beds in it. However, it was spotless as we've come to expect in Greece, and very quiet considering its city location. The white noise of the AC never hurts either! The breakfast was a lovely spread including fruit, and they didn't rush to put it away at the appointed hour. Cigarette odor was minimal, and about as good as you're likely to get in Greece as non-smokers' rights are still not taken all too seriously here. We wanted to return and make it our base of operations in Greece, but it was full. Location is on the edge of a not so good neighborhood, but that street is OK and we were quite comfortable coming and going.

On weekends go to the Plaka and check out the lovely bouzouki restaurant at Mnesikleous and Lisiou: Palaia Taverna tou Kritikou [The Critic's Old Taverna]. Good food, good service, loads of character, and not your usual sirtaki music.

An exellent tourist class hotel
An exellent tourist class hotel when you need only a place to sleep in and don't need any extra luxuries. Good location, near to everywhere. Very helpful and friendly staff. The room was very standard but clean and functional. Much value for the money.

Short walk from hotel
National Museum was a must see. Plaka, many shops and restaurants. Restaurants with acropolis view expensive and not the necessarily the best food.

I was very satisfied with the Economy Hotel Athens and plan on staying there on my next trip to Athens. I arrived in Greece by plane, and found getting to the hotel via public transportation very easy. The hotel staff also helped us get to our next destination. Finally, the staff gave us very good suggestions about sites to visit and current happenings.
