Texans in Athens

We had a comfortable stay at Titania Hotel, got 2 single beds together which worked perfectly for us, the bathroom was small but clean. The room had a funny smell (sewery-like) every time we entered it, Im guessing the pipes in the city are really old or need some fixing. After we put the A/C for a few minutes, the smell kind of went away. Good breakfast starting at 6:30am, very convenient. Location is great but make sure to always walk left towards the center (Syntagma square) as the opposite direction (right) takes you to Omonia Square which is not recommended for turists. The staff was friendly and acommodating. Bar downstairs has good selection of desserts and the bar tender and waitress are super friendly.

Christmas in Athens

I arrived at 7pm on 12/20/11, got checked in quickly and they gave me a nice room with a double bed.. I wanted internet, it was difficult to get connected, I took my Ipad down and it took some trouble shooting with the internet company to get me on their system for 7 days.when it came to renewal.. they had trouble renewing due to a problem with the internet company for no more than 3 hours at a time at 6 euros per 3 hour session.. the Olive Garden Restaurant on the top floor was excellent with a 3 course meal at 19 euros..with an amazing view of the Acropolis. the buffet breakfast is big with lots of varieity, the location is cental, everything was closed on december 26, including lots of restaurants..

Good Location

Went to Athens in Dec 2011.... The location of the Hotel is very good. You can walk to the Acropolis and Plaka or many other places in the town center. Is located in one of the main avenues of the city and near two subway stations. If you plan to use the subway I would recommend to get off in the Panepistimio Station and not in the Omonia Station. The first one I think its safer and more tourist friendly. The rooms are ok.... regular comfort. The wi-fi is not included, you can buy a package for a few days or a few hours..... but keep in mind that is extra charge. The breakfast is included and is an american menu (eggs, bacon, cereal, juice ,bread) it was good. Overall is a good hotel in a very good location with fair prices.
