Great four star hotel

Has a real upscale 'bed & breakfast' feel. The staff is truly outstanding. The room (Superior) was beautiful, and I had a great view of the streets of Hong Kong. Nice touches throughout the room. Had an electric kettle in the room which was great for preparing water.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There are 3 cafes, one directly across from the hotel where you can have an extremely cheap breakfast. Hong Kong is immense and you can easily explore the central district from the front door of your otel.

Great Time in Hong Kong

This was a small Boutique Hotel, so no real Ammenities, but it was a perfect location. Right off the escalator (an elevated walkway that makes it easy to get around), close to the main LKF bar area, shopping and metro. Nice Room. And good price.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

If your luggage is portable, I would not get a taxi from the Train (train is easiest way to get from the Airport to Hong Kong). It is about a 5-10 min walk up hill on the escalator, in the evening the escalator moves up the hill, but you can still walk either way. Wellington St. is right after the first motorized portion. The hotel is a block down the hill.

Good location

The carpeting looks like it could use an update but other than that it was a pleasant stay. Generally clean room and close to the mid-levels incline. I would stay here again.

Hotel near Lan Kwai Fong

So I would recommend this place for anyone traveling alone and wants to check out the nearby bar scene. The room is spacious for one person, might be a little cramped for two ppl. The shower was great, not much space in the bathroom though. The staff is friendly and the wi-fi was decent. If you're carrying light luggage, you can actually walk to/from the airport express station (even make use of the escalators through the town). Otherwise, it's cheap to take a cab HK$25 from the station. I would definitely stay here again.

Short 10 min walk to Lan Kwai Fong, highly recommend the value in the hotel for such a good location near the bar scene. Definitely nice to be able to walk back home after hitting the bar scene.

Perfect Boutique Hotel Chain

I recommend staying at the Butterfly on Wellington, but they had to move us to the Morrison location, which was fine. But the Wellington is super well located, in the middle of shopping and restaurants. The location of the Butterfly Morrison is far from Central, but near shopping at Times Square. The staff at the Morrison were great, very friendly and inviting. They made us feel very comfortable. The room was small, but nice amenities and clean room and bathroom.

Central location, clean rooms, perfect for a weekend "home base"

The Butterfly on Wellington is located in a great mid levels neighborhood spot and provides the perfect location as a jumping off point for seeing the HKG sights. Be ready to smell and see a lot of interesting things walking to and from the hotel, as this is a real working class neighborhood with a lot of locally frequented eateries and shops. The hotel is clean, modern and well designed. The rooms are definitely small as other posters mentioned. But, if it's just a couple looking for a weekend adventure, it's perfect. I would not advise families to stay here. We had a great view of the skyline, a well appointed bathroom that was newly updated with nice tile and vessel sink. The bed was comfortable. Rooms have access to a wired internet connection; wireless is only available in the lobby. Had there been wireless in the room I would have rated amenities a 5. The room was cleaned each day and stocked with complimentary drinking water. Can't beat that. The hotel staff was welcoming and friendly. Very helpful giving us tips of places to see and where to eat. The lobby includes a bank of iMacs to research your own activities, check email, etc. For the price we paid, this was a great hotel and put us in the perfect spot to walk to attractions, pubs, restaurants. We never used a cab the entire time we were in HKG.

Luk Yu Tea House is just a block down and about three blocks over from the hotel. Stop in for some amazing dumplings and steamed BBQ pork buns. None of the staff speak English, but they will provide an English menu for ordering. They take Visa and MC.

It's really central, walks 5 minutes

It's really central, walks 5 minutes to MTR, 5 minutes to many superb eateries, SOHO, travellator. Landmark shopping mall... Wet market right outside so bit smelly but once hotel has very pleasant smell n atmosphere. Free internet is a plus. Room size in HK is considered good size.

Great find in the heart of Hong Kong

You can't beat the location. It's so central to everything and just a few-minute walk to Central MTR station or Hong Kong station for the Airport Express. There's dining and nightlife within reach. The hotel is a bit removed from the financial center so it feels more like the real Hong Kong with the narrow streets, hole-in-the-wall eateries and allies filled with produce vendors, but close enough to Central with tourists, business travelers and revelers (a la nearby Lan Kwai Fong) mixed in there. It's great for the leisure traveler who doesn't want to spend a fortune on the luxury hotels on the island. The rooms are Oriental-chic; simple, aesthetic, and very clean. The beds were a bit hard for my taste and small as they only had rooms with single beds left. The rooms might be considered small for some but are typical by Hong Kong standards. There is no food service or snacks available in the hotel, so you have to go outside the hotel for your late-night fix. The free extras, such as bottled water, coffee/tea, internet (hard-wired in your room, wifi in the lobby) are nice. Front desk staff is cordial and helpful.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

If you have just flown in from overseas and wake up at 2am starving (as I was due to jet lag), ask the front desk how to get to the Frying Pan, a 24 hour diner. It is just a few blocks away up the hill and serves tasty American breakfast.
