A great value for tech and deal savys
Dorsett Kwun Tong was one of the few hotels we found that actually had free wifi, which was a great plus since we figured we would rely on internet a lot to help us plan and navigate our stay in Hong Kong. It's a great price at the time of my search and it had a free upgrade when I ordered it online which meant free buffet breakfast everyday! The food was quite satisfying, although not the greatest food in Hong Kong (which has lots of great food choices), it had a lot of choices in its buffet so you can figure out yourself which ones suit your taste buds and which didn't. And plus, compared to other hotels in the same price range, this one is relatively new and its design and cleanliness shows it too. Hotel staff has been helpful each time and we were impressed with how detailed that housekeeping was. While this may not be located in some big touristy location like on Nathan Rd but it was definitely not much of a challenge to get to the public transportation or to any major shopping areas. The MTR is like 5 blocks away and there are buses available within 2 blocks reach. We've walked to the big shopping mall, APM (about 4 blocks away), almost everyday whether for food or for souvenir shopping. 24 hour McD was also within walking distance if you ever get hungry late at night. We were very pleased with this location since it was not too touristy but not too difficult to navigate by a tourist. The only real drawback would be that it is located near a sewage area and I think as a result, the toilets would have a smell from time to time. We remedied this by closing the toilet seat cover when it is not in use. Not the big of a drawback for us and so we would definitely recommend and consider coming back to this hotel next time.

Get a SIM card when you get to HK that has data as well as minutes to use with your phone. The most helpful thing for us during this trip was being able to use Google Maps on our phone so that we would be able to navigate which bus to take where or which direction to walk where. It took a lot of the jitters out of traveling about on your own when you know you can have the information at the tip of your fingers whenever you need it.

Excellent hotel!
The Dorsett is an excellent hotel. The rooms are well appointed, the staff is outstanding, and the food is superb. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Hong Kong.
