A great place
The only draw back to this hotel is its location in Wampoa, however the free shuttle to Nathan Road is ecellent. The setting right on the harbor is outstanding and the staff is the best in Hong Kong.

Second time in HK hotel
Excellent views!!
We had booked a courtroom view and the hotel upgraded us to a gorgeous suite with a breathtaking view of the harbor. The only complaint was the amount of "air freshener" that they pump through the AC, but I suspect that is common in most of the hotels. The staff was very friendly and helpful with getting to the airport for our flights.

Enjoyed Hotel Comforts
Unlike reviews we read before booking, we enjoyed the location for its waterfront promenade with cool breeze as well as the peacefully quiet neighborhood compared to Nathan Road area hotels. Room was comfortable and clean, staff was responsive and helpful and the amenities were very nice. Restaurants were good but a little expensive. Shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes which was convenient. Concierge set up limo for airport pickup and dropoff, eliminating need to take public transportation with all of our luggage. Limo was a little high but well worth the money for the convenience to us. Enjoyed French menu in the Promenade Restaurant for the month of May. Hotel has arrangements with tour companies to allow guests to schedule and pay at the front desk, which is convenient.

HK was cold, but the Harbour Grand warmed us up!
Really enjoyed our stay in HK (Jan 2012), despite the very chilly temperatures. I found the concierge to be very helpful and definitely a good resource. The shuttle to the MTR station was always right on time and very helpful for getting around. There are some gems to be found in walking distance if you are looking for a bite to eat or shop.

Relaxing break
We stayed at this hotel for 3 days en route home to the UK. Found it to be very relaxing. The rooftop pool was amazing and fortunately the weather was really great and we had the pool to ourselves for the morning before it got a bit busy but not crowded or hectic. Room service was very good and so was the food. Cost of menu and drinks were as expected for this class of hotel. Staff on reception were very helpful, courteous and polite. Booking in was efficient. Bit unnerving when the doormen whisk your luggage out of your cab but it was transported to our room with minimal delay. Unfortunately you will have to go further down to the other side of the harbour to see the Symphony of Lights show in the evenings because it is just out of view. Reception area looked beautiful with all the Christmas decorations and the fountain. Was a pleasure to view. Room was very comfortable and fairly spacious for 2 people. Beds very comfortable. Our room was on the 16th floor and it did take a while for housekeeping to reach our room but they are approachable if you need clean towels and tea and coffee top ups. Taxis can be booked at all times and are outside the door even at 04.00am and we found it easier to go by taxi to the airport rather than bus where it would cost HK$130 per person (by bus) then you would have to find your way to the hotel from there or just get a taxi and pay approx HK$250 and takes you door to door. Lovely, lovely hotel and would definitely go again if I had the opportunity.

When you get a bit fed up of chinese food and fancy a change, there is a lovely Steakhouse not far from the hotel. You just come out of the entrance and walk approximately 500m along that road. Prices and food are very good.

Book early around trade shows
I've stayed at the Harbour Grand several times and have usually enjoyed my stay, but this visit I only booked a few days in advance and everything was sold out and ridiculously expensive because the Canton fair was going on. I stayed in an expensive suite that wasn't much nicer than their normal rooms for 3x the cost. Plus the hotel was overcrowded and service was slow. Overall, I'd recommend the hotel except around the shows.
