Nice hotel, not an ideal location though.

I had a standard room and it needed some updating, but the hotel itself was very nice. It's connected to a large shopping mall but it's a bit of a cab ride away from TST. The pool / spa was very nice. For the price, it was overall a good hotel experience.

"Not worthy of 5 star rating"

Read some good reviews about this hotel before our trip. We made a reservation for a family room and requested for early check-in. We were dissappointed when we arrived at close to 2pm, the room was still not ready yet and the hotel needed another 1hour! Room was big and clean though but the bathtub and sink chokes occasionally. Location of the hotel wasn't that great, it was a 10minute walk from Mongkok station via the pedestrain footbridge. If walking from Mongkok East station, one will need to make transits. Overall, hotel is not worthy of a 5-star rating, we give Royal Plaza a 4-star rating.

Make use of the Hotel free shuttle bus service going to Kowloon airport express station, it can save you time n hassle of dragging luggages up and down escalators in MTR stations.

Royal Plaza Hotel

this is the second time we stayed at the hotel. We really like the location since it is close to two MTR stations. Mong Kok and Mond Kok East. It is very convenient. Mong Kok is where the locals lives and shop, so it is much less touristy than other places. It also means it has more shops and eateries which do not have English translation, it can be a bit of problems for tourist who don't know Chinese. We like it because it kept some of the memories when we grew up because it has not changed as much as other part of Hong Kong. In terms of the rooms, they are very big for Hong Kong's standard. The service is good and the bed is comfortable. It is definitely not luxury but a very decent hotel to stay. We will stay here again in the future.

Great Location, good hotel and amenities

This is a great hotel right next to a big mall and close to all the important shopping markets. I've stayed there before and overall it was a good decision to come back. This time I stayed at the Exec Floor which comes with great amenities, but one has to question the hotels decision of converting the elevator lobby on the 19th floor into a conference room and therefore the elevator only goes to the 18th floor, which mean one has to carry their luggage up one set of stairs – not a very smart idea. Also, this time, the bathroom was tiny and smelled a bit mouldy; during previous stays I had rooms on lower floors with much larger bathrooms.
