Great Location

Highlight of this hotel is the location - near Peninsula, MTR and Harbor City/Ocean Terminal! Rooms extremely small for 2 persons. Also beware, they charge internet access fee PER UNIT - so if you're connecting cel phone and laptop it's a double charge! (Never experienced that before!) Staff helpful. Bustling/noisy lobby and never enough seats to meet/greet people...

Crash Pad

A good hotel for business execs seeking a Crash Pad; the rooms are small, not meant for R and R, but it is located in a convenient spot near Ocean Terminal and other large luxury hotels nearby. The Cafe is terribly expensive and we did not try the buffet which is pricey for family budgets, as are most hotels in Hong Kong. The personnel at the Kowloon Hotel are very helpful and do their best in a crowded situation. Internet services cost US$19.00 for 24 hours with lower rates for short hourly usage.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

For upscale dining, try the Peninsula lobby with a nice menu which is more affordable than their upstairs restaurants and is open for dining until 10:30 p.m. During the day, they serve breakfast, lunch and a renown tea service in the afternoon.

Rooms too small!

The hotel staff is great, the location is amazing if you are planning to take public transportation but the rooms were simply way too small. I felt like i was in a prison cell the entire time. Plus, the bathroom doors are too small for the frame which makes it awkward if you are traveling with friends.

Not 4 Stars.

Lobby kept up very nice, as usual, in most hotels. Rooms very drab and dated. Not as nice as our first stay several years ago. Not worthy of 4 stars!

Tiny rooms and expensive

The Kowloon Hotel Hong Kong is in a perfect position in Hong Kong just by Nathan Road and behind the Peninsula Hotel.. The view of the harbour was about 10 degrees between the Peninsula Hotel and an office building. The hard sell by the check-in staff was almost overwhealming. I would not return to this hotel on my next visit. I know there was a conference on but the price was far too high for this sort of hotel.

Run down hotel with ceiling that collapsed

I will start with the positive. This hotel is in an excellent location. Now the bad to the ugly. The room is tiny. I have been in cramped quarters in NYC and Paris, which are huge compared to this room. The rooms are stained. Not dirty, just old and stained. They need new carpets. The bathroom needs to be repainted. But the capper in my stay was that the ceiling in the bathroom fell down while I was taking a shower, exposing the moldy pipes. Then I had to hassle with the front desk to switch rooms. They immediatly claimed no other rooms were available, then said I was just trying to get a bigger room. After much hollering (not the best way to get what you need, but I was very frustrated), and visits from two different hotel staff, the manager finally realized I was not lying. The ceiling had collapsed. Probably due to the large (1.75 Liter) bottle of vodka that had been stored in the ceiling on top of the panel that collapsed. Guess one of the hotel staff needed to store the booze somewhere, and my bathroom turned out to be the lucky spot. Ended up in the same room on another floor. Maybe it is just me, but I would have expected to get a night comped or at least moved up a class in room, but I did not push the issue as it was late and I just wanted to take another shower to get rid of all the stuff that had fallen on me and go to bed. I have no qualms in saying I would never come back to this hotel. Even thought the location is excellent, the service is substandard and I felt I overpaid for what I received.

The room is very very small and dirty

The room is very very small and run down. The carpet is very dirty. We are forced to pay $30 to "upgrade" to a room with cleaner carpet. This hotel is way over rated. This is in no way a 4 star hotel. I would give it a 2 star max
