Downtown hotel takes guests back in time with traditional décor
Elegant interiors make it easy to see why the Danubius Hotel Astoria has been used for several movie shoots. A renovation in 2008 enhanced the back-in-time look. Décor features beautiful woods and upholstered furniture in traditional fabrics. Mirror Café & Restaurant serves Hungarian and international dishes. Budapest's best-known tourist attractions are within walking distance or by public transportation. Four function rooms meet the needs of business travelers in need of meeting space.

We adored everything about the Astoria in Budapest. We did not quite know what to expect, as sometimes what you see on-line and what you actually get are two different things. Not here! Everything was wonderful: the location, the hotel staff, plus a very nice restaurant downstairs. Highly recommend to anyone who is going to Budapest!

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Get to know the city with a Hop on, Hop Off bus tour, then go back by foot or Metro to see what interests you. The Metro station is right outside the Hotel Danubius Astoria. You do not even cross the street, the steps are a few steps out the front door. Very convenient!

Hotel with classical style: rooms are quite large and with good interior but there's no wi-fi, available only in the hall.

Perfect!
Staying at the Astoria was a pleasure. Friendly staff, food, entertainment, comfort, location and price all add up to perfection. It made our stay in Budapest most enjoyable, would definitely recommend to a friend!

Refreshing old fashioned
It is refreshing to come across a hotel that dates back to the thirties. Clean , excellent service, staff who obviously like their job. We will certainly go back

Good value near central Budapest
I stayed at the Hotel Astoria for 5 nights recently and had a lovely time in Budapest. They offer the option to upgrade to a deluxe room, but I stayed in the standard room. The room was clean and a very generous size for a European hotel room. The hotel is right above the Astoria metro station and the 47/49 tram runs right next to it, so it is fairly convenient to get around the city. It is also only a short walk from the river. I did not have the 15 Euro breakfast, since there are many coffee shops and bakeries in the neighborhood. With the windows closed the room was quiet, but on Friday and Saturday nights it could be a bit loud outside if you wanted to keep the windows open. The biggest drawback to the hotel is the lack of free wireless in the rooms.

very nice
nice location, very professional helpful staff. room was a little small and dated but not bad considering the great price. ornate and lavish lobby area makes up for it too. :)

Highly recommend Danubius Hotel
Highly recommend Danubius Hotel Astoria Budapest, we were fortunate to be able to check in early, excellent value for money; we had all our meals in the resturaunt-first class. Room serviced daily, windows double glazed so no traffic noise etc. Metro & Hop on Hop off Buses across the road. Walking distance to all tourist attractions including river. If we were ever to return to Budapest we'd certainly stop here again.
