Great Trip, Great Value
We stayed a week, sightseeing and enjoying Budapest. The hotel is in a great location and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. This hotel would be our first choice on a return visit and we are so satisfied that we would use one of their other hotels when traveling in other countries.

Sightseeing tip:
In Hotel
Try a "hop on hop off" bus tour when you first get to the city. You can get a ticket from the front desk. With the tour you get 2 boat ride tickets on the Danube. It's wonderful at night.

A nice hotel very near main shopping
A nice hotel very near main shopping street (one underpass away). Friendly service. Didn't try the restaurant as I felt the price of the breakfast was a bit pricey - they offer a discount if you pre-pay for breakfast every day of your stay upon arrival - but there are plenty of cafés around where you can enjoy the atmosphere of the city.

Nickle and Dime Central
I stayed at the Erzsebet Hotel Budapest in 2006 and it was the best experience. Free Breakfast, Free internet in the lobby. Friendly staff and I couldn't wait to stay there again. In 2010 it was different. Even though my orbits res said free breakfast when I booked it they refused to give it to us and said it would be 8 Euro or 6 Euro if I paid in advance for everyday we were there. While in 2006 the breakfast was good it was not 6 Euro good there is a Match (Supermarket) one block away and with our 12 Euro (2 people) breakfast budget we were able to purchase Caviar, Goose Liver, Several Cheeses, Fresh Breads, Salami, Butter and Jelly, danish Juice, Coffee, Diet Coke and Red bull for about 8 Euro. The once free internet was $5 for 30 minutes. Most hotels in Budapest offer it for free and there is a REALLY NICE bookstore Barns and Noble type but Much nicer on Andrasy ut and they charge .50 cents for an hour. Dont touch the phone either we made 5 calls totaling 7 minutes all LOCAL!!!! and the bill was $20 ALSO the electricity in our room was busted and they said it had to be us because it worked fine. After having an electrician look at it they decided the could set up another outlet for our converter. 24 hours later the whole hotels electricity went down and we had to walk down from the 8th floor. Also do do not exchange your money there. they were offering 209 forents for every USD and Citibank by Vorosmarty Ter was offering 250 for Every USD I think 20% Exchange rate is a bit Much. Lastly and just an annoyance in the 2.5 weeks we were there our room key broke 4 times for "No reason"

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The main market has places to eat lunch upstairs very inexpensive. Papa Fritzi is a great cheep traditional resturaunt located by the Opera house on Kiraly Ut and Pesti Lampus across the street offers EXTREAMLY AFFORDABLE fine dinning. Lastly get breakfast from the Match and eat in your room.

Excelent location. Breakfast wasn't included into the price. It seemed to be 4 star hotel but small rooms and no posibility to prepare tea/coffee in the room....

An overall I am very pleased with
An overall I am very pleased with this hotel. The location was great, as most major sights are within walking distance and there are plenty of public transport connections nearby (despite this we still opted to walk most of the time to get the feel of the city). The room was typical for a hotel of this class and spotless. I can not stress this enough. Everything in the room was in perfect condition and really clean. We opted not to get breakfast at the hotel so I have no real opinion on that. Nice, helpful and multilingual staff. For a weekend getaway in Budapest this hotel is a bargain.
