In general the hotel is OK, but I booked through here what was described as a "Taj view room" and when I showed at the hotel they told me I had a standard room. They even showed a printout of a local travel agency stating that I had a "standard" room booked. No way I could make them agree, even showing my internet confirmation. At the end, they "upgraded" me to a deluxe room "on their behalf", but with no view. By the way, it isn't worth to book a Taj view room, the Taj is far and partially obstructed. Don't pay for it.

The staff were very attentive
The staff were very attentive and friendly. The room was clean and well appointed - We enjoyed our stay and found their 7th floor restaurant very good indeed.

Overall hotel did not represent
Overall hotel did not represent good value for money. The hotel welcome was good by receptionist and our rooms were not connecting as had been requested. After i made a fuss, they upgraded us to a next class with connecting rooms for children. Considering other hotels I have stayed in India there were cases where service was not very helpful and only on request - level of proactivity was not as high as one would expect. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall lacked the finesse, service and grandeur I would have expected for a hotel of this star level and cost.

The Clarks Shiraz Hotel is a fair
The Clarks Shiraz Hotel is a fair facility, located in the tourist town of Agra. The Hotel although classified as 4 star, is a poor to fair example. The rooms were thin walled and sparse in nature, and you could hear your neighbour.

great for Taj
This hotel is in a good safe area, a few kms awya from the Taj (where there are low quality hotels and cars/taxis are not allowed). Pool is lovely and restaurant had excellent food, and distant view of Taj in daylight. Breakfast buffet had a wide range of tasty Indian and continental foods. Very good value.

ein älteres Hotel, bei gutem Wetter
ein älteres Hotel, bei gutem Wetter mit Sicht aufs Taj Mahal. Das Frühstück war gut, aber nichts besonderes. Allerdings auch für weniger experimentierfreudige Europäer ist auf jeden Fall genug Auswahl geboten. Die Einrichtung ist etwas altmodisch und wirkt daher etwas "schwerer". Generell eine gute Option mit vernüftigem Preis-Leistungs Verhältnis.
