Outside of the hike to the fourth floor (no elevator), the accomodations were quite nice and the staff was pleasant. It was a short walk to the Taj Mahal gate at dawn, where we huddled waiting for entry with a remarkable cross-cultural selection of tourists. Back to the hotel afterwards for a welcome shower (ample hot water)and breakfast. Be forewarned that the view of the Taj from the terrace is subject to the vagaries of air quality, which are entirely out of the control of the hotel. Hopefully you will have a clearer day than ours.

Agra experience without the hassle
Hotel was not bad by Indian standards, room was spacious & clean though very basic. The rooftop restaurant was the main attraction for me, though also basic it did indeed have a clear view of the Taj without unsightly buildings interfering....mostly treetops, and the food for the one lunch I had there was very enjoyable. The staff were also friendly & helpful without being pushy which for Agra is indeed a bonus

Near the East Gate which is the least busy entrance to the Taj, and adjacent cafe coffee inn has real coffee & muffins/brownies for less than a euro!

Great view of the Taj from our
Great view of the Taj from our bedroom window. Great views of Taj from the top floor restaurant. Walking distance to the East Gate although we chose to use the free transport provided with the entry tickets. So pleased that we were so close. Water pressure a bit low but typical of India. Bathroom facilities clean but old. Good service and good food. Friendly staff. Very good value for budget hotel price.

Well...grubby...
We were upset at how dirty the hotel seemed to be... public rooms, restaurant and our room and bath. We were promised a view and of course when the sun rose we realized we got no such thing. The location, however, was great!

Good location - that's it
Has a roof top restaurant, which is good for beer. The food is very boring. As the Taj Mahal is not illuminated at night, not much to see in the evening, but nice in the morning. The hotel room was dirty - lots of bugs, mosquitos and even a lizard. I am not sure about other hotels in Agra, but compared to hotels in Jaipur and Jodhpur overprized. Also do not change money in the hotel, as they give out old notes.

There were more things wrong with
There were more things wrong with this hotel than could reasonably be written down, and yet it still managed to be a great place to stay. The staff were very helpful (especially Ricky the waiter), the view of the Taj is lovely, the bed was comfy, and the food was pretty good. My tips to anyone staying here would be not to expect too much (it is after all very cheap), and not to leave anything sweet lying around because there are tiny miniature ants that find their way in if you do. I would definitely stay here again - overall a very good experience.

Had the Taj view room; this are
Had the Taj view room; this are 2 rooms, with 2 double beds and 2 A/C and 1 bathroom. For € 40,- with Taj view very good deal. Note thjat Taj Mahal is not lighted in the evening and night, so view comes only at day. Service and cleanliness is ok, not really special. Location I think the best in Agra and for this price!!!!!!!
