The highlight of the place is its spatial simplicity & a dramatic installation of polished aluminum ovals form a stunning shimmering texture against the contrasting bricky masonry wall. It also has an admirable cigar collection. Too cool for school
Where to start with the park... I know, how about when I checked the option for a more expensive room because it had a double and single bed, only to learn that the room didn't exist! Not sure if that chestnut was [...]or the Park, but it was a nice hint of things to come. For fancying themselves hip and modern, the small rooms are already in need of an update. The wood is warn and the sinks are beginning to look tired. The design's a little haphazard as well. I could not learn how to work the lights after three days, and there is no way to shower without hosing the floor. Speaking of the bathroom, it feels like you're sitting next to the bed because there's a floor to ceiling glass window looking out. It's also only separated from the main area by a small door. You'll def think twice about dropping a deuce with your girl in the next room because you'll never find the fan...Did you include breakfast with your room? Better bring a printout of your ticket because they won't believe you otherwise. Oh and the kicker - We chose the Park to be close to the nightlife, but could not get into either of it's two clubs because we had four single men with us. "Too many bachelors" they said, which was odd because it was a stream of dudes walking past us into the club. I told the manager that was ludicrous and embarrassing for me and the friends I'd hoped to host. After fifteen minutes of attempting to reason with him he told us we could walk through the club for 'a drink', but said they'd come pull us out after 15 minutes. The Tantra manager was rude and the whole thing was insulting.Finally made it to the pool at ten fifteen. Wouldn't you know it, they close it at ten. Sound like your idea of fun? Me neither, next time I'll spend my rupees on a good holiday.
