very-average hotel

rang the hotel before booking to confirm that parking was available. they confirmed this but when we showed up we were informed that the cark park was full. tiny car park, around 20 spaces, for the entire hotel. had to pay an additional ten euro for parking in a very dodgey area at the other side of the river to the hotel. hotel basically had the feel of a hostel. when i asked for an iron i was directed to the ironing room, which contained one iron. staff were unhelpfully and aloof

A few minutes walk from downtown

Not a bad little place, view of the harbour if you're fortunate enough to get a street view room, or the back car park otherwise. Rooms are ok, as are bathrooms, fixed showerhead, a bit tatty but fair enough for the price. TV was badly tuned into a few channels, obviously no cable. No air con, so you've have to open the window for air, unless you want to get to sleep that is, as the hotel is on a main road. Efficient and professional receptionists.

Return to Cork

We first stayed at Cork's Jury's Inn thirteen years ago (1998) on our first trip to Ireland. We now live there (Ireland) and thought why not spend a night in Cork and check out the Jury's Inn. Good thought - Great location, the room is good value for money, the staff friendly and helpful, the breakfast good and plentiful.

Jurys Inn Cork

Hotel was nice and accommodating. We didn't need it, but parking was scarce. A concierge would have been helpful.

Terrible Stay

We booked the wrong hotel. We meant to book the Jury's River Lee. We arrived at the Jury's Inn while walking through the middle of a verified drug deal. Our window looked out onto a homeless shelter, which provided much free street entertainment from our hotel room. So, we didn't have to pay for that! The room was CLEAN. So that was awesome. But the furnishings were all attached to the wall, which reminded us of staying in a hostel. We didn't feel safe walking anywhere, so we took a cab to Issac's (great meal!) and hightailed it out of there the next day. It was worth forfeiting a night's stay to get the hell out of Cork.

Not to recommend

I booked into the hotel last Saturday for a birthday night out with 3 other girls. First of all beware there is litterly no parking. The whole hotel has 22 car spaces - first come first serve and unless you are there and lucky on a friday you ain't gonna get one. There is a public car park behind the hotel but no concession or hotel rate is given by jurys.Hourly Rate 2.20 €!! - Ended up paying 26.60 from 4 pm till 1 pm next day!! Staff unfriendly, waitress with greasy hair. Booked valentines special with welcome sparkling wine. Wine was open since Monday so no sparkles. In the night you get checked by bossy and noisy security at the door. Make you feel like a prisoner. Check out day beware your room cards won't be working after 12 pm anymore. Even though breakfast is until 12. So you need to make sure you do not take too long for your cup of tea. Never ever experienced something like that in a hotel before. All together I am sure to say I will not check in there again
