Nice stay

A tidy, modern hotel in a good location by tram (can be noisy) and Collins Museum (worth a look), close to river and Guinness Brewery. Bus stop for airport at station opposite. Friendly staff. I would stay there again

Collins Museum is great (5 minutes walk). A pint of Guinness in the Brazen Head (Upper Bridge Street - 15 minutes walk) is touristy but fun. Got thoroughly lost in hire car so take the bus from the airport!

Friendly Staff

Overall, this was a good hotel and a great hotel for families. It's a 20 minute walk to the City Center but you can catch the tram, which is about a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It's something to keep in mind if you enjoy walking around town and like to go back to your hotel for a break. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. If I were to go back to Dublin, I'd probably pay more to stay at the Radisson or splurge on the Westbury Hotel.

If you are a vegetarian, the Cornucopia restaurant on Wicklow Street in Dublin is a great option. Traveling to other cities can be a challenge for vegetarians so it's great to find good restaurants like this one.

fabulous weekend break

hotel was very welcoming when we arrived, room very clean, bathroom gorgeous, lounge bar area was very comfy and lots of atmosphere, staff very friendly, we ate in the bar as well as breakfast and food was delicious and big portions. location great, 3 tram stops into town, 10 min walk from guiness brewery and walking distance to jameson distillery, next door to museum. overall a great wkend, will definately stay at this hotel again. only minus point is there was no fridge in bedroom, but not a problem really.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

guiness brewery is well worth a visit, even if you dont like the drink, its about £16 for adult but there is alot to do inside so you could spend a whole day there....cafes, bar and shop, and a 360 degree bar area on the 7th floor which gives a fantastic view over Dublin. You can also pull your own perfect pint in the guiness academy then drink it afterwards, well worth a visit.

Great location

We spent two nights at the Ashling Hotel but actually spent very little time in the hotel. It is within walking distance of the downtown sites in Dublin and also accessible on the red line bus tour. We had significant problems with the wifi connection in our room on the 4th floor - the hotel staff offered no solution nor any sort of apology for the situation other than suggesting we sit in the lobby where the reception is better - somewhat frustrating when almost every restaurant and pub in Dublin (and Ireland for that matter) has free and reliable wifi service.

easy to walk the 2-3 km to get to the sites in Dublin - once you are downtown - Temple Bar and Grafton Street are very interesting

Two nights in Dublin

WE were in the Ashling on 4 April and were upgraded to a fantastic room so impressed we booked again for the end of May. This time we were downgraded to an attic room no airconditioning and a bathroom were the toilet bowl was right up against the washbasin and could only be used by someone without a left leg. It is a shame that some four star hotels have a three star area within them to fob off customers you think you are going to the same class as before to be dissapointed. There are lots of four star hotels in Dublin so we will not book the Ashling in future.

The Ashling

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was right across the street from the train station, which making our tours very easy and convenient. The only thing I would change would be the mattress on the bed. It wasn't very comfortable. The room was very nice and well kept. I would certainly stay here again.

Last day of 10-day vaca

It was a nice hotel for our last day in Ireland. I wish it were a bit closer to city centre; however, it was within walking distance from the brewery. The bar was great. The hotel was clean. The staff was accommodating. I was originally given a smoking room, which I did not request. I am asthmatic and was ready to check out if there weren't any rooms available. The Ashling had a family room available (meaning more beds) and they provided that to me at no additional cost. My stay was quite satisfying.

Standard room is disappointing

Standard room is not what you see online. They first put us in a smoking room because they ran out of non smoking rooms - smelled horrible. The next day we were able to change rooms and they put us next to the laundry room where you here the dryers all day. It was a good thing we didn't spend much time in the hotel.
