Within easy reach of Dublin centre

A brilliant room overlooking Dublin bay with Howth on the horizon. The hotel and room were well maintained and kept clean throughout, had excellent staff and lovely food, particularly the open breakfasts. Although being 4 mile from Dublin there is an excellent train service just a few minutes walk from the hotel, costing just under €5 return per adult and taking less than 15 minutes to Tara Street Station in central Dublin, just 6 stops away. The Aircoach from Dublin Airport stops right outside the hotel and cost only €16 each return. Locally there is the beach and a large park just down the road.

Very good place

It is an excellent hotel, but rooms facing the street are noisy, and the staff is overworked (a single person at the desk has to deal with everything, phone as well as customers). Cleanliness of the staircase area can be improved. Other than that, rooms are comfortable and the view of the sea fantastic.

Very good value

Location was ideal for ur trip. We were able to get a bus to city centre outside the door no need for car. Staff very helpful. Room was very clean as was hotel even if a coat of paint in the corridoors would not go astray. Ate in the bar and food was very tasty. Excellent value for money

V. good, 2 nights while waiting for flight.

Everything was fine. I had a beautiful view of the sea & sunrise. The food in the pub was good and not over-priced. The busstop was just outside the front door & it took me in to City centre quite quickly, Airport Bus stops there too. My only negative point is that the free WIFI in the lobby, restaurant & pub was not very strong (and this was the case in many places during my 2 months in Ireland)

There's a garage with a convenience store within 2 mins walk - they make sandwiches, good coffee etc. for people on a budget.

PERFECT LOCATION FOR AVIVA STADIUM

An easy five minute walk to the Dart station means that you can be at the Aviva or the city centre in minutes. We had a nice fish and chips meal in the bar and the staff were very friendly. Although the outer porch lobby area looks scruffy, along with one of those awful cigarette stubouts, the lobby itself was fine and the room was comfortable and clean.

I stayed one night, I asked for a quiet room which is exactly what I got. The rooms are basic, clean, it is good value for money.

City break

Positive things were the great view of the sea and Howth from our front of hotel 4th floor room. Closeness of Dart station 6 minutes walk away. Even taxi to city centre costs approx €10. Friendly staff, close to city. Negatives were the badly needed upcycling of the furniture which looked sad and worn out - desk tables etc. Even a coat of paint would have made all the difference. The front of the hotel is the older part but it is a pity to let the furniture make it run down looking. Also there were two very large black stains on the carpet which could have done with a good clean. We did not complain because the stay was so cheap but they need to raise the standards for our overseas visitors.

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Dart station 6 minutes walk away so no traffic jams to the city which is a short distance away. It is worth taking the Dart south to Bray for the view along the coast by Killiney. Trip takes just 20 mins. Bring the camera.
