Nice hotel for the money

We felt welcomed at this hotel, very clean rooms and made accomodations for us on room location. Breakfast was adequate, Ammenities were basic but met expectations for the price. Parking is a real hassle and expensive, so would suggest this location if not dealing with an auto.

short walk to center city

Trying to keep costs low, I choose this hotel due to location and price. It is one block east of O'Connell which is the "main street" of Dublin. A very tall spire is in the middle of the street and is a good landmark when negotiating the streets of Dublin by foot. The hotel was simple, but clean. Staff friendly. As mentioned in previous reviews, the breakfast is a little pricey. We ate mainly breakfast food from local corner shops. The discount from Cheap Tickets sealed the deal. FYI - No one will know where Great Denmark St. is if you are asking for directions. The Belvedere is on the corner of the street where the James Joyce Center is located!

very friendly and helpful staff

close to O'Connell street, easy drop off and pick up of airport link, breakfast book day before its cheaper and very good value. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Only downfall 3 women were shouting to 3 men from outside their bedroom window at 2.30am but that wasn't the hotels fault only the inconsiderate women.

great value for money

After reading some of the negative reviews of this hotel I was sceptical, however for the price we paid we were delighted. Room was clean and spacious. Bed very comfortable, with coffee/ tea and hairdryer provided. Couldn't have asked for much more. Only small negative no tv control and only 1 channel! But were there to see Dublin not watch tv. Would recommend.

So much going for it

In almost every way, this hotel fitted my needs - reasonably priced, very good location, comfortable, very good facilities. I booked room-only but used the restaurant twice for dinner and enjoyed both times. Wifi was very good, which is so useful these days. The shelf under the radiator had thick black lumps of dust which I reported to reception twice. After two days of no change, I saw one of the maids and had to show her the problem (that may have been the issue - did she understand any notes given to her?) before it was cleaned. The hotel flag banged against my window in the wind and again my request to reception brought nothing so I leaned out and tied it up myself. Although these were annoying, I would certainly consider using the Belvedere again.

Ok

Room was ok, clean and comfortable, but it had its issues: we heard street noise all night, shower water temp maxed out at lukewarm, and we randomly lost power when no one else did. Perks included reasonably priced, good wifi, and location was set downtown. Overall. It worked for a one night stay, wouldn't recommend for any length of staying longer than one night.

good walking distance

Great walking distance for almost anything in Dublin. No place to park if you have a car. Cost you 12.50 euro a day to keep your car parked. Other than that, not a bad hotel.
