Decent - nice staff
This hotel is located near O'Connel street. It is walking distance to really most anything you will want to do in Dublin...if you don't mind actually walking. The rooms are not anything fancy, but they are clean and the staff is helpful. We got there at 8 am, and they would have let us check in if they had a room available. They did hold our luggage until a room was ready and we were able to check in around noon...three hours before check in time. Don't get breakfast at the hotel. You can go down O'Connel street a few blocks and get good Irish breakfasts for much less.

Entertainment tip:
Long walk from hotel
We were in Dublin for 3 consecutive days. The first day started with getting off a plane at 6:30 am after 24 hrs of travel. We did the hop-on-hop-off buss, which was a nice intro to the city. We bought the freedom pass (3 days), but we only used it for that one ride. If you're ok with walking I would say save your money. We slept most of the daytime away that day b/c of jet lag. That night we went to the Arlington Hotel where you can see Irish Dancing, hear Irish drinking songs and pull your own Guiness or Carlsburg pints. It was fun...but maybe just go for drinks and not dinner. Dinner was expensive. We bought the Dublin pass for 1 day, and really we could have just paid as we went. If you're a student anywhere you get the student rate, so keep that in mind when trying to decide if you should get the pass or not. We only made it to Trinity College, Guiness, Jameson and St. Patricks in the one day.

The room was quite large and the staff was very friendly. The location was a little far from any attractions, but was nice because it was quiet. I would definitely recommend staying here if you don't mind taking a cab home from the bars.

Great price & nice location.
The hotel staff were very friendly & helpful. Our rooms were good sized & clean. The price was great. The location was good for the hop on hop off tour of Dublin. The Irish breakfast buffet was delicious. We had a good experience.

Perfect Location once we found it.
Excellent location once we located it. Go straight up O'Connell Street and turn right at the church. Street names change frequently here. The building is old but that adds to its character. There is a noisy bar across the street so ask for a quiet room on the side street. They upgraded us after a wakeful night.

Fairly near to the centre, only
Fairly near to the centre, only a 5 minute walk. The room was nice and comfortable, nice big towels ... breakfast was not nice and not worth the extra money. A good deal at £50 a night but Dublin is a very very expensive place to stay so spending money makes the stay more expensive than a week away abroad in the sun. So i'd recommend this hotel to people who want to visit Dublin but we wouldnt visit Dublin again as a place

Great stay for the price
the hotel is an 8-10 minute walk from the city center (but only a moment away from the start of O'Connel street...) It was a great find on Orbitz--as we got it for a discount. I would recommend this hotel to others!

It was good
The view from the room wasn't too great but that was the only real problem. It was a pretty good price for the room. Also, I didn't like the comforter, it barely covered the bed. But overall, a very friendly staff in a clean hotel in a nice, convenient part of town.

Belvedere Hotel
The hotel was very nice. Rooms were spacious and I would recommend to travelers. Only knock is that there was no internet access in the room. Had to use wireless in the lobby. Not a far walk from restaurants, bars, bus station, and a lot of action.

Good deal
Nice location near center of the city, 2 short blocks uphill from the O'Connell street and downtown area. Quiet area and hotel. Helpful staff. Clean large rooms. I don't think that all rooms are accessible via elevator so if important one should check. The hotel is initially not the easiest to find but locals are extremely helpful with directions. Not far walking distance from the Trinity and Temple Bar areas and near public transportation within and outside of the city.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Few blocks (not far) from the hotel one can find the tourist bureau which is very helpful in planning trips and making reservations and all kinds of information. In addition, they have various discounts available, e.g. 2 for 1 admission to Guinness Storehouse.

Good Stay
Upon arrival at 9:30 am room was not ready but they held our bags for our first day of walking around Dublin. Upon arrival back at about 3:30pm they checked us in. Our room was small but ok, we were there during a heat wave for Ireland low 80's. Rooms have no A/C and window faced the sun so room was blazing hot. Phone did not work and desk was not happy about trying to help but eventually came to room and tried it themselves as if they did not believe me. Finally decided to move us to next room over which was much bigger and cleaner, and faced the back in the shade. MUCH BETTER. Free in room Lan access with cable they provide. Hotel bar and food was ok. Good location though, walking distance to most, easy to get a cab.
