Excellent value, location and friendly staff. However there were weddings on both nights I stayed and it was extremely noisy.

Updating required

The room , and specially the bathroom needs to be updated, there were humidity signs on the bathroom ceiling. I have been in lower budget hotels with more modern and better maintained rooms. Customer service was good.

Friendly staff

The staff at the hotel were very good, friendly and helpful. We had a budget room and although very clean the cold water was just a dribble, the bath needed to be replaced and the toilet needed to be fixed in place. It's location was good, bus to Dublin easy to get. Over all a good place to stay, just needs a make over.

The Regency Dublin

The positives are that it has a good bus link into town,16,41,41b,41c or 44. All taken from Lower Abbey Street in the centre of Dublin. The breakfast is fantastic value. The rooms are clean. The bar staff are friendly enough. I didn't check out the spa or pool as I had intended. On the down side the rooms were very cold upon arrival and we had to ask for the heating to be put on and some areas of the hotel and parts of the rooms were clearly in need of renovation/smartening up. If I had paid full price I'd have been disappointed but at the discount I got I was happy enough.

Good budget hotel

We stayed in the budget section of the hotel. Room had no microwave, fridge or TV remote control. The biggest issue was with the central heating, which regularly switches off between 12am and 12pm, so room is sometimes really cold with wet windows. Location - 15 minutes by frequent bus to downtown. Centra convenience store is just steps by the hotel. You can buy bus tickets and food for a good price. Amenities: we tried sauna and the steam room (both free) and they were also mostly cold. The same goes for a lobby, which is also mostly cold as employees and travelers open the entrance doors. We recommend this hotel to Dublin visitors as it's about 15 minutes to airport. We assume that they will already have bus tickets so they won't mind traveling into downtown on them. We would recommend not to stay in the budget section but in the regular one.

Quality local hotel

Just a short stay at this hotel and my 1st, but would definitely stay again, stayed in budget room which was perfect in every sense, even better than more expensive hotels I have stayed in. Friendly efficient staff, loads of parking and just a short hop from Dublin city centre, perfect!
