Nice older style hotel,easy walk to city centre.Room was good size and clean.Didnt eat there as city was so close but menu seemed ok but a little expensive compared to city restaurants,but is expected I guess.Only problem is the free internet access which is only available in the lobby.I and others could not access it and reception staff could not help but only a small problem

it was the worst hotel i ever stayed in. the rooms smelt of must, and were tiny. the bed was only a four foot bed, so my wife, and i didn't sleep a wink. the shower was tiny. i could hardly get into it.the furniture in the room was broken. how anyone could rate this hotel as a 3 star, is beyond me. the curtains were all worn, and ravelled. i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. i asked for bacon, and egg for breakfast, and got 1 rasher, and 1 fried egg. this hotel shouldn't get 1 star. it should be shut down. i can't say it enough " close it down"!!!!!

i saw this hotel as i was driving by and it looked good. the staff are the best asset, friendly and fast to deal with, pub grub tasty and room was as good as any 4-5 star.As someone said, i'll be back.

Great looking website. Hotel a total let down

We booked into the Killarney Oaks for New Year’s Eve after seeing their website which looked great. Sadly our experience came nowhere near our expectations and the whole experience was a let-down. Alarm bells should have sounded when we were asked to pay on checking in which I have never heard of before with the receptionist saying ‘I will be too busy in the morning’??
However it is the hotel room where the biggest surprises came.
The bathroom wasn’t clean around the sink or shower with grout and paint coming away from the walls? The tiles weren’t cleaned properly, the towel rail was hanging off the wall and the lock on the door was completely missing.
The bedroom had marks on most walls and unbelievably some cushions on the bed were not clean.
To top it all off when we tried to order breakfast to our room I was told that was not possible as there was a wedding the night before??
I took picture to support the above but there is no faciility on this site to post them!
Not surprisingly when I contacted the hotel after they never even bothered coming back to me. Before posting this review today I even I called again – but still nothing? It’s actually unbelievable!!
So don’t be fooled by their website this hotel is clearly in trouble and needs a serious cash injection. We were obviously disappointed and it is the first time I have ever written a review.
There are many wonderful hotels in Killarney but our advice (a couple both aged 31 years) avoid the Killarney Oaks!

location is fantastic walking distance to everything we found some very nice rest and pubs to eat and drink incredible chowders and stews . we did not eat at the hotel only because ew wanted to explore the town we hired a private taxi to tour around the ring of kerry for a day 120 euros and another day around the dingle penninsuala 100 euros pricey but private and worth it we had a fantastic time in killarney and kenmare . if we go back we would at least 5 nights at the royal

We attended a wedding in the hotel and stayed overnight. The wedding reception was excellent. While we did oversleep the next morning, I found the reception staff a little pushy, it took some work to get them to take a wedding present for the bride and groom even though they were staying again that night. Overall it is quite expensive, probably overpriced in today's market.

Immediately upon arriving we were greeted by the staff running out to get our luggage, and an offer to park our car for us. Every request was met, and met promptly.
The free car park is a short walk, but it makes it easier to get out of town (and the traffic). This is an older building, and at times can be noisy. Our room (114) was large, and also included some electric adapters (as well as a blow dryer). I could access wi-fi in my room, though some could only use it in the lobby.
We only had breakfast in the restaurant, but the food was good, and the service was attentive.
My wife spent mornings browsing the shops while I played golf, and then we spent afternoons touring the countryside to wonderful towns, like Dingle, Kinsale, Cobh, and Kenmare. She felt very safe walking the streets, and though downtown has a lot of tourist shops, it has plenty of variety of retail businesses.
Killarney is a great place to stay for easy access to other parts of southern Ireland. We would definitely stay here again.

Out of all 7 hotels that we had booked for our vacation, this hotel had no record of our booking and made us feel as if we had done something wrong when we came to check in. The failed to tell us that the parking fees were included in the cost and then when we asked about the parking fee they made us feel as if we again had done something wrong. The food at breakfast was acceptable but not great and the bar in the hotel was closed by 9pm (which is not uncommon for Ireland, but it would have been nice if they were open later.)
If would only recommend this hotel to a friend if I knew that they error at check-in would not happen to them as well.

this hotel is steeped in history it has been in the O'connelly
family for over a hundred years they have won numerous
awards for hospitality and fine quisine and all of this is still
true today from our arrival till our departure service was individually
specific to carring our luggage up the 3 stories of tight stairways
to specially reserving a table for two unasked in one of the prime
dining areas. the pub on the ground serves excellent food fare and live irish music after 9 pm till 11. we were very happy with our stay
here and would definetly stay here again

Hotel silenzioso con ampi spazi, struttura non moderna ma funzionale e confortevole. è lontano dal centro (6 km), servizi e cucina ok solo un po' lenti.

Nous avons été profondément déçu par la prestation en correspondance du prix.il ne correspond pas au standard 3 étoiles (plutot la valeur d'un Ibis).personnel qui ne sait pas ce que veut dire le mot client .A ne pas conseillé pour les personnes qui se rendent à Killarney.
