Great location
I really enjoyed visiting Limerick and the room on the water was beautiful. We stayed for 4 nights and had some minor issues. However, I would still recommend the hotel regardless of the issues. My flight arrived in Shannon at 630 am. They do not offer shuttle service, but one of the staff members gave me the number to contact a reputable cab company. However, going there we just used a taxi and it was a standard 35 Euro to the hotel. I had contacted the hotel a few days before regarding early check in. I was initially told I would be charged a full nights fee to reserve the room for early check in. Although I offered to pay half fee for 8 hours, when I called the other staff member assured me there were 69 rooms available and early check in should be no charge. When we arrived we were able to check into a less desirable room in the sense of location. Our room was on the 11th floor and we had a view of the river and a small construction sight. Since we spent most time sight seeing, it was okay with us. Our refrigerator did not work. They offered to move us and we asked if it was possible to switch out the refrigerator but it never occurred. We had to be careful getting out of the shower and my husband and I both fell in the bathroom because it was so slippery. All in all, I would recommend the hotel. It was clean and professional. The one staff member offered me so much information I felt very comfortable and relieved.

Short walk from hotel
Food was incredible in Limerick. I highly recommend Bambu Restaurant, next to the Steakhouse. It is an Indian/Thai place that is by far the best Indian food I have ever had. The Locke Bar had great Guinness Stew and an amazing mushroom appetizer. The South Pub across from St. Joseph's Church was amazing. It is the place that is mentioned throughout Frank McCourt's Angela's Ashes. We had an Irish breakfast there that was okay, but the two women there were so nice and helpful and gave us incredible recommendations for our short trip! Oh yeah, make sure you have a good raincoat :)

Staff was exceptional.Very helpful and kind. Food is very good. Location is a bit scary as it is in an industrial area.

King John's Castle short walking distance and perfect view from window of room. Not very far from Bunratty Castle but you would need a taxi. I would recommend a day tour with Paddywagon tours- excellent money's worth!

Staff
Hotel experience starts while checking in, reception staff should remember that. I would have taken the less than friendly welcome personally if I didn't see others treated the same way.

Disappointed really.....
Very average, wouldn't go back. Good points - very nearby car park and good hotel rates to park. Also Kudos Restaurant serves great Asian food. BUT, we had a really poor meal in other restaurant and very noisy music on Saturday night in function suite. Some staff good, some not that bothered.

Good Experience
The staff are wonderful. The location on the water is beautiful with views from every room. I suggest a room with the old city view. Minutes walk away from amenities. I was at a conference at the Teacher Education college and it was a mere 10 min. walk. Fitness room and pool are very good and again friendly staff. Good food in the restaurants within the hotel. Free wifi. I'd stay again for sure.

Fruit and snacks at Dunne's. As short walk and you can get plenty of snacks and fruit for a very reasonable price.

I stayed one night before moving to a conference hotel. Everyone was most gracious and the room was just fine. It was also downtown and I'd have been happy to stay there if I hadn't been attending a conference at another hotel.
