We only spent one night in Villa
We only spent one night in Villa Mater Hotel Catania. It's nice, cheap, clean and comfortable. However, it's not central and you can't really go out in the evening if you don't have a car.

noisy hotel
We only spend two nights at this hotel. our room was clean but very noisy (foot steps, door closing, water running). When the occupant in the next room take a shower it sounds like he or she is using our shower.

Short walk from hotel
There are two bus stop just a few minutes walk from the hotel. The cost is 1 euro for 90 minutes. Take bus #936 to center.

Beautiful View
From town center, it's about a 4km walk uphill. Highly recommend taking taxi and have the address handy (be sure to negotiate taxi fare before getting in the taxi). The hotel is well kept, very neat, with a picturesque view of Mt. Etna to the North, and town center to the South. The hotel room was a little small, but enough space for two. The concierge speak little English, but were very helpful and pleasant. My only complaint is the internet service. The only wifi service available is located in the lobby and it's "pay by the hour". I would recommend this hotel to a friend, but don't bother to bring your laptop.
