LOCATION WAS NOT THE BEST BUT THE HOTEL WAS NICE.
THE HOTEL WAS A VERY CLEAN AND A FRIENDLY PLACE TO STAY. THE ROOM WAS LARGE ENOUGH FOR TWO PEOPLE BUT IT WAS VERY NOISY. YOU COULD HEAR EVERYTHING GOING ON NEXT DOOR. THE LOCATION WAS NOT THE BEST BUT WE DID LIKE THE PIZZA NEXT TO THE HOTEL. PEOPLE HUNG OUT IN THE PARK ALL NIGHT LONG.

LA DIVINA OSTERIA YOU HAVE GOT TO TRY IT AND SIT IN THE TERRACE. THE PASTA IS HOME MADE AND DELICIOUS. WE ATE THERE TWICE AND LOVED IT. THE BEST!!!!!!!

Cozy, intimate hotel
Florence is a small, beautiful city and small enough to walk to the various attractions. Everything is within a 10 to 20 minutes walk. Our hotel was about a 10 minute walk from the train station. It's a small and cozy hotel. The room was small but clean, though it could use a fresh coat of paint. The staff was very helpful and made reservations for us to see the Accademia and Uffizi museums which usually have very long lines. One thing to note is the bathroom tub did not have a shower curtain, but the floor was tiled to let the water drain out. That's the way they have it there I believe. The breakfast was very good and there was a great restaurant around the corner that had absolutely delicious Italian food. I would highly recommend it. It's called Il Messere on Via Guelfa. We are vegetarians and they made us very happy indeed, so I can imagine how the rest of the food would be as well. Don't miss an evening walk by the river near the Ponte Vecchio. It is gorgeous! And do take a trip to Pisa from there. It is an hour's train ride from Florence and the leaning tower is worth the trip.

Pretty nice place
We were able to walk here from the train station. It is in a good location with lots within walking distance. The size of the room was adequate as were the facilities. We enjoyed our stay.

First Time in Florence
Great choice for a good price.
I would highly recommend the Caravaggiio to anyone looking for a good room at a good price. Florence is an easy city to navigate and hotel was well located (5 min. walk to see "David", 15 to the Duomo.) Central Market with stall after stall of leather goods, etc. just a couple of blocks away. Staff was excellent. When we arrived there had been a mix up on the types of beds (frankly, probably my fault when I booked!) There were 4 of us - sharing 2 rooms. We wanted 2 single beds per room and they had doubles in each room. Staff immediately remedied situation. Hotel room was small but that is typical in Italy. But room was light and clean. Breakfast was included in our rate - good option, basic breakfast but enough to start the day. Killer gelato stand about 2 blocks away - Il Triangalo di Bermude - The Bermuda Triangle - cause if you eat enough, you'll get lost. Bar is basic - just a small area off the lobby. And it is tended by whoever is working the front desk. Which was actually pretty charming. Desk staff all spoke English well, housekeeping and breakfast ladies only a little. I only speak a little Italian but enough for us all to get by fine. My room was on the front of the hotel. Busy street - didn't bother me, but if you want super quiet ask for a room on the side or back of building. Only drawback - laundry. It is advertised as having laundry service - which it does - but they don't have a dryer. The day we wanted to get laundry done, it was raining and they didn't know when they could get it back to us. If you can wait a day (or 2) no problem, but we were under a time crunch. Important for us because our group had been traveling for about 2 weeks and we needed some clean clothes. Had to wait til our next stop. FYI - there is a laundromat about 2 blocks away if you want to do your own. Minor inconvenience. Would highly recommend.

Group touring Europe
My tour group very much liked this hotel. It has a very nice breakfast. The rooms were ready when we arrived. Check-in was very fast! The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were large and the bathroom was spacious and showers had lots of water pressure. I would definately take a group to this hotel again. It was also convenient to the train station.

It is a good 10 min walk from SMN train station. It is very close to shops, restaurants, and if you're taking the afternoon wine tasting excursions, it's convenient to the meeting place.

Of the 3 hotels booked in Italy through this website, this is the only one I would definitely return to. It is well run, pleasant responsive staff; everything in the room worked including the air conditioning, pleasant clean and nicely decorated room with a nice working shower my very tall husband could use without flooding the bathroom! We have no complaints on our 5 night stay and look forward to going back. (We have stayed in Florence on many visits over the years, so have quite a frame of reference from a variety of accommodations)
