Situated in a recently renovated twentieth century building, Hotel Ideal expands over 2 floors, with an elegant hall facing the road and a welcoming, little tavern where breakfast is served, Together with the common areas and the rooms, the hotel is furnished in a modern style, with slight retro touches here and there. There are warm tones and soft colors everywhere, which accompany the clients in an atmosphere of discreet friendliness and captivating liveliness. The family run hotel has been passed down from generation to generation, guaranteeing numerous personal services to guests to make the stay pleasant and relaxing. Whatever the interests or requirements, the hotel is willing to satisfy all your needs as quickly as possible. The reception area opens 24 hours a day, offers you the possibility to buy the public transport tickets, book admission to museums, fairs or tourist excursions in the city and surroundings. The multi-lingual staff is well informed on the most important Tourist information to direct you to all tourist destinations offered in a city as big and varied as Naples. Great location, but don't expect anything else

The location is amazing for getting in and out of Naples, but the hotel is SO LOUD I could barely sleep. The walls have little sound-proofing and the on-site bar's terrace is in a courtyard sending all the echoing drunk noise up into the rooms. And forget about breakfast. Dry bread and butter. And to drink? Coffee or whole milk. That's it.

Good place to crash

My experience was fine. There was nothing fantasitc about this hotel, but the room was very inexpensive and included breakfast. Very close to train station, and walking distance to sights, which is what i wanted.

Naples trip

Basic OK hotel. Very convenient to train station which is the best way to get around the Naples area. Breakfast was too skimpy, with very limited selection of items. Maybe they should charge a fee so the breakfast can be upgraded. Service was generally good.

Take advantage of the extensive rail service. I used it to get to everywhere I wanted from Herculaneum to the waterfront. Do take time to walk around the harbor. especially worth while is the magnificent Norman castle. Also the enormous public plaza. Walk the main streets, it is the best way to see the city. I even manged to spy some buildings that still had damages from naval shelling during the last World War. The city needless to say, is a history buffs dream.

This has got to be the second

This has got to be the second closest hotel to Naples station (the closest is more expensive). It's not the nicest part of Naples but is incredibly convenient. I never worked out the local buses so ended up walking to the docks (about 25 min.) for the ferries to Capri and Ischia but for everything else used the underground or regional trains. Basically this hotel was a wonderful find. A very good price (admittedly in January). My only complaint would be that I got quite a bit of coridoor noise in the room (not noise from other rooms). Staff were helpful, but do be aware, far less English is spoken in Naples than in Rome.

Pros: very close to railway station.

Pros: very close to railway station. Friendly, multi-lingual, helpful staff 24h day. Great value for money. Clean, spacious room. Wi-fi access in bar at set times for a fee. Cons: Surrounding area (lot of construction going on and dodgy at night)

The hotel was not bad for a temporary

The hotel was not bad for a temporary stay. The only push factor was that the hotel had no elevators and travellers would need to use the steep stairs carefully to move their luggage to their rooms.

Naples Italy

There were problems with the toilet that went unanswered for 24 hours. The water flow from the shower head was very low. The staff attempted to clean the shower head to no avail. I was charged for local calls! I've stayed in better Italian hotels.

the hotel is very simple, but

the hotel is very simple, but the location is very good, if man arrival at city with train, the hotel is only about 100 M from the Main Train Station in Napolis
