Smokey!!!

The Hotel was nice on the inside and the double room we had was clean and spacious. However although our room was a non smoking room it was full of smoke. All the ventilation ducts are linked to all the rooms so if someone is smoking in another room it poors into yours through the vents. When I called to complain I was told to just open a window. I eventually sealed off all vents by plugging them up with tissue paper. If the hotel is going to allow smoking in some rooms they should put all the smoking rooms on one floor and seal that floor off from the vents of the other floors. This hotel also seems to deal mainly with wave after wave of tour-bus groups so the lobby is usually in chaos with hords of grumpy tourists. I think this has a negative effect on the staff because they were not as friendly as other places we stayed. All in all I would say 3 star at best.

Nice hotel in nice location

We were getting around Italy by train, and so this hotel proved perfect, in that it is immediately by the main train station. If you are a strong walker, it is reasonably close to the colosseum and other attractions. The staff were always very helpful, and the rooms were reasonable size and always well maintained. Many notables have stayed here including Louis Armstrong. The only complaint is that the price is a little bit high for what you get.

First trip to Rome

Hotel was okay, nothing special, good location though. A minute or so from the Terminal and all the other tourist attractions were within walking distance.

Our stay at Bettoja Massimo D Azeglio Hotel Rome

We stayed, two nights before, and two nights after a trip to Florence from Rome. The hotel staff were very helpful and gave us, per our request, quite rooms on higher floors. The rooms were clean with full bathroom amenities. The breakfast, included with the room, had plenty of variety of foods but the seating was a little to tight. The hotel restorant is reasonably priced and not overly spiced

Wonderful Rome vacation

Our hotel room with a king size bed was very nice. The bathroom was clean and with an added bonus Americans do not see very often - a bidet. The free wifi was easy to use and very convenient - a definite plus. The complementary breakfast was simple and very, very satisfying, indeed. The closeness of the hotel to the Termini was important to us. We were able to see the Vatican and all the other important sights easily starting off from the Termini station. The staff was no nonsense, professional, and very helpful. Praises to all of them - from the persons manning the front desk to the cleaning staff. Overall, we had a wonderful time at their hotel. Gracie.

Positives & Negatives

The hotel is very simple. The best thing about it is the location. Within 1 block of Roma Termini (trains & metro). The rooms are very small but clean, the internet is free but spotty, the TV is very small. However, I came to Rome to maximize the tourist experience - day trips to Florence, all day excursions to Vatican, Borghese, etc. So I didn't spend a lot of time in the room. The price is a bit high (160 euros per night) for what you get, but not unreasonable. That's why I rated it average 3/5 stars.

We were pleasantly surprised at

We were pleasantly surprised at the quiet elegance of this well positioned hotel. We enjoyed reasonable, quality accomodation, a spacious aircon lobby, elegant & comfortable lounge area(great to relax in after a long, hot day of sightseeing) & a huge buffet breakfast which included bacon & eggs. Staff could have been more friendly & helpful. Mostly Italian guests while we were there.

Awesome location.

We went on a long-weekend sight-seeing vacation. The hotel is very well located with Termini station just a minute-walk away. This was, by far, the best feature of the hotel; being able to take the subway back to Termini or waiting at any bus stop knowing that one of the buses there would go to Termini station. The room and bathroom were clean and the size of them were decent. The only complaint was that we could hear the kids in the next room laughing... The staff was friendly and helpful; they gave us a map of Rome. The breakfast buffett was not bad. They offered mostly different varieties of bread, some cheese, some fruit, packages of jam, juice, scrambled eggs, bacon, and they provided coffee from a coffee machine. You could eat as much as you wanted but when some of the food was done, they did not refill. I would recommend staying at this hotel for the convenience of the location and the cleanliness of the place but do not expect big and elaborate rooms that you would find in some other four-star hotels outside the city.
