The hotel is Offering free Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service. Hotel Contilia is just 200 metres from Termini Station. Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica is a 3-minute walk away, and rooms have air conditioning and traditional furnishings. LCD TV come as standard in the Contilia's rooms. Each has a compact private bathroom. Breakfast in buffet style. The attentive staff are on hand to give recommendations for nearby restaurants. Via Nazionale, a popular shopping street, is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Coliseum and the Trevi Fountain are both 2 stops away from Termini Metro. The hotel also offers free Breakfast.

October stay at Hotel Contilia

Great location- was able to take the Leonardo Express from the airport to the Termini train station, then walk from there to the hotel- about 3 blocks. Continental breakfast was well done. Could have used some fresh fruit. Room was small but adequate. Initially the air conditioner didn't work and tells were not replaced on Day #2, but when I reported both to the front desk it was taken care of quickly. I would recommend this hotel. Great location for both walking tours and Metro access.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you're English speaking, take the Real-Rome tours. They are walking only- no buses- and group size is relatively small (usually less than 10). Very knowledge guides who are American or Irish. For Pompeii take the train from Termini to Naples, then by a Too-To train ticket in the Napoli station for a combo local train to Pompeii and Pompeii entry ticket. Self-guided walking through Pompeii is great, with free maps and guidebooks at the entry point. The train ride takes less than 3 hours total each way, and avoids the bus stops at the tourist traps.
