Business stay fro 3 nights

I was here on business and chose Hotel Rex due the reviews. The staff was amazing with every person I spoke to for help or just passing in the hall. As a women traveling alone I felt safe and secure. I was comfortable walking to the train station, dinner and shopping. The room was typical for a European room. Bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Excellent value and would stay again.

First Weekend in Rome

I had never been to Rome but was fortunate to have a free long weekend to spend in Europe at the end of a business trip. The Rex was an excellent value. The staff were very friendly and offered great ideas on sightseeing and dining, and at the end of my day always asked what I had seen or done. They were very friendly and eager to help me with my Italian (although the staff all spoke English fluently). The hotel location is about a 15 minute walk to either the Colosseum or Trevi Fountains, and an easy subway ride to the Vatican. The property is cozy, clean, and well appointed. There are many great restaurants nearby as well as one onsite. I had a great time and look forward to visiting again.

New Year's in Rome

Booking last minute, we were glad to find a hotel in the centre of Rome, most attraction are walkable, or a few bus stops away. Both trains and coaches takes you to Termini which is a 10 minute walk. The stuff was friendly and helpful without exception. I especially liked the spacious bed, it was quiet, the curtains blocked out the light (I slept well). If you turn on the radio in the room, there's music in the bathroom as well. Despite the huge window, we didn't get any noise from the street (or the corridors). Best to take your own tea and coffee sachets, as their selection is 3 euros, but there's a kettle in the room - a bonus in a European hotel. We never had a problem with the hot water supply, morning or evening. We enjoyed breakfast, the best parts being the capuccinos, omelettes, fresh pastries and parma type ham. The latter two ran out as more guests made it to breakfast, so better to be early. There's plenty of other food though. The TV room downstairs has got good ambiance and one can rent DVD's for free and watch them in the room. Over all, I was very pleased with everything. We're a couple who wanted to see everything we could in Rome and the hotel was a great base.

Hotel Rex Rocks!

The staff really made the stay pleasant. They allowed us to check in early and then go out and tour the city of Rome. The hotel itself is a little older, but the tremendous amount of amenities and kindness shown by the staff more than made up for it. We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to other travelers.

Friendly Staff and Great Location

We arrived to Rex Hotel around noon time. The staff was very friendly allow us to leave our luggage there and check-in later on. We stay in Rome just for one night. The front desk staff provided us a map. The location was great. We walked from the hotel to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Trevi Fountain. In the evening we continue walked to Spanish Steps. You must wear a comfortable walking shoes. The Rome Termini train station is very closer to the Rex Hotel.

A very nice hotel.

The hotel Rex is conveniently located, a short walking distance from Termini. The staff is very friendly, very helpful. The breakfast, buffet style, is quite good and the servers there are very helpful. The room is also comfortable--from the bed, to the spacious and well supplied bathroom. Internet connection is free, and excellent. There really is not much missing. The only problem I found was a slight opening of the curtain which faces a lighted stairway. I attached one side with a rubberband to the opposing latch, and that solved the problem.

ROMA HOLIDAY

I WAS HAPPY WITH MY STAY. AS STATED BY MANY, THE LOCATION IS GREAT FOR WALKING TO ALL OF THE RUINS, AND NOTED HIGHLIGHTS. THE HOTEL STAFF WAS HELPFUL AND WAS ABLE TO ADVISE. ALL IN ALL, THE LOCATION IS A GREAT CENTRAL POINT TO TOUR AND ENJOY THE CENTER CITY AREA. I WAS ABLE TO FIND AND ACCOMPLISH EVERYTHING I WANTED TO DO, ALL IN WALKING DISTANCE. IT IS NOT HARD TO CATCH THE BUS FROM FCO TO THE MAIN TERMINI, THEN A 10MIN WALK TO THE HOTEL. PLEASE BE AWARE THE STREETS IN THIS AREA OR NOT FLAT, BY SOME WHAT HILLY. ,

Best Location in Rome

What a value! Safe convenient location near Termini. Friendly and helpful staff. One of the staff actually sits down with you and orientates you to the city and the hotel. Free internet to check flights and travel sites.Great breakfast with homemade tarts etc. Several terraces to enjoy a few minutes of peace and reflection with your own bottle of wine. We would stay there again.
