Perfectly Located Hotel

The best thing about this hotel was the location. So central and within walking distance to most of the important landmarks. The others can be easily reached by the metro. The next best thing was the great breakfast which can be eaten on the roof top terrace so if you are a smoker like me you can have a ciggie with your morning coffee! The staff were wonderful.....so friendly and helpful, printing out maps for anywhere that you wanted to go and making phone calls for you when in a crisis (I had my purse stolen in Naples metro station......avoid Naples if you can).I would definitely recommend this hotel and already have relatives going to use it in the future.Local eateries are very reasonably priced.....the local chinese restaurant......2 courses and wine and beer for 35 euros. What a bargain! All in all a lovely experience.

Like Staying with Your Family in Rome

Great people, great location, superior breakfast. I was scheduled to stay for 5 nites, stayed for over 3 weeks. One of my goals in Rome was to learn more Italian so when the staff spoke to me in English I asked them to repeat in Italian. After I moved out of hotel, I continued to stop by to visit and they allowed me to use their internet (no charge) and phone at minimal charge. Definitely highly recommended.

Benvenuti a Roma

We were able to walk with our wheeled luggage the few blocks from the railway station, Stazione Termini. The receptionists spoke very good English. We were provided with multiple restaurant recommendations within walking distance. Breakfast was excellent with Italian espresso coffee on request at no extra charge. While the room was clean, the carpet was very dated and the bathroom was a bit lacking in adequate light. Also, reading lights were abysmal. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay here. We walked a lot but also used the Metro and busses to get around. The staff was helpful at suggesting transportation options other than taxis.

Business stay fro 3 nights

I was here on business and chose Hotel Rex due the reviews. The staff was amazing with every person I spoke to for help or just passing in the hall. As a women traveling alone I felt safe and secure. I was comfortable walking to the train station, dinner and shopping. The room was typical for a European room. Bed and pillows were clean and comfortable. Excellent value and would stay again.

First Weekend in Rome

I had never been to Rome but was fortunate to have a free long weekend to spend in Europe at the end of a business trip. The Rex was an excellent value. The staff were very friendly and offered great ideas on sightseeing and dining, and at the end of my day always asked what I had seen or done. They were very friendly and eager to help me with my Italian (although the staff all spoke English fluently). The hotel location is about a 15 minute walk to either the Colosseum or Trevi Fountains, and an easy subway ride to the Vatican. The property is cozy, clean, and well appointed. There are many great restaurants nearby as well as one onsite. I had a great time and look forward to visiting again.
