Built in 1894 as the first deluxe hotel in Rome, The St. Regis Rome is within walking distance of the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and Via Veneto. Upon reopening in mid-December 1999, after an extensive restoration and renovation, The St. Regis Rome reclaimed its status as the finest hotel in Rome and one of the best in the world. This honor has been re-emphasized by recently being named to Condé Nast Traveler's 2008 Gold List. As a focal point of Rome's diplomatic and political life, we are proud to host many national and international dignitaries, heads of state, business executives, and widely known celebrities. Enjoy a unique dining experience at our Vivendo Restaurant. Our private wine cellar, Di Vino, selected to be "depositaire de l' enotheque Dom Perignon" invites you to private dining with regional and international menus enhanced by a wide selection of wines to complement each course. A butler is available, on dedicated floors, to attend to guests' requests 24-hours a day.

Five Days of Luxury

My daughter & I spent 5 fantastic days in Rome, staying at the St. Regis. The hotel is magnificent; staff is perfectly trained, friendly and helpful; and the restaurant is outstanding.

Honeymoon

First class all the way! Service was great. Hotel is a short walk from most of the attractions about 10 minutes from (Colliseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps). Hotel is 2 blocks from Termini Train Station so arriving from aiport or traveling out of Rome is very convenient. Metro line is only 1 block away which takes you to Vatican City inside of 15 minutes for 1 Euro per person.

Outstanding Hotel Close to Transportatio

Excellent location close to Termini. Typical days I would take the Metro (1 block from hotel) to site seeing location, and walk back toward hotel by late afternoon. Rome is a very walkable city, with interesting sights around every corner. The St. Regis Grand Hotel is fabulous. Top line room features, welcome fruit basket, turn down service, everything top end. A real refuge for relaxation. Orbitz room was small, with no view, but well worth the price paid. I'm very satisfied with the overall value, and would happily stay here again!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

The Metro was one block from hotel, and for 1 Euro one can travel anywhere on the two intersecting lines. The Metro won't reach everywhere, but reached most places one will want to see in a 2 or 3 day trip to Rome. Walking back from the destination station, stopping and seeing sites along the way, was truly enjoyable, and allowed great people watching as well, without feeling "herded along" by a tour guide.

Travel Trevails

Good Hotel in all respects - expensive, (it is a St. Regis after all) but the room was kinda small. Swanky place overall
