Even since its conception Ripa hotel has strived to stand apart from the status que of Roman hotels. The hotel has always chosen to make a cultural and artistic statement about itself daring to use a modern minimalistic style in a city that has made "classical" its trademark. Original interiors, breathtaking in their simplicity, that provide an atmosphere of functional luxury in one of the Rome's most historical and suggestive districts : Trastevere, monutes away from the vatican, the colosseum and circus Maximus.

Great Hotel

We had a great stay at the RIPA Hotel. Breakfast was excellent and the staff was very helpful. The bed was uncomfortable, but not a huge issue. If I ever go back to Rome I would definitely consider staying here again. Thank you RIPA!

Doable, but certainly not Optimal

The tough part for me is that this is the only hotel I have been to in Rome, so I do not know what to compare to, other than your average hotel in the United States. The location was right next to the # 3,8,H bus stops, so that was very convenient. It was also on the close side of Rome to the major airport which made our arrival and departure simpler. My biggest hotel complaints are that the bed was so uncomfortable that we used the couch cushions ontop of it instead, wifi is not free, and if you drink a coke or beer out of the fridge, it costs 5 euros each! The youngest guy on staff at the front desk was very nice, and helpful though. He had good suggestions for us and made everything hassle free. He needs a promotion.

A Great Hotel in Rome

The staff was great and accommodating. They went out of their way to explain how to get around in Rome. Trastevere is not near the Metro, but is serviced by Tram and buses that take you to the Metro lines. Highly recommended.

Keep in mind that when you call a cab to your hotel in Rome, the meter starts at the call not when it arrives! (and cabs are not cheap)The buses, Trams and subways are fast and you can get a 3 day pass for 16 euro.

Pleasent hotel in Rome

If you do not want to stay in the crowded touristic areas of Rome, I would advice you to consider Trastevere area on the western side of river Tevere. Area is nice offering very good restaurants (some touristic with tourist prices, some GREAT non-touristic restaurants with normal prices!) and not far from any of the sights of Rome. Hotel is trendily furnished and offers great buffet brekfast (at least our rate included it). I can warmly recommend this hotel.

Perfect location to see Rome

Ripa Hotel is idealy located in the Trastevere. You are a short tram ride or walk to the centre of ancient Rome. Trastevere itself is a vibrant and active area with great restaurants cafes and bars.Prices are great compared to the other side of the Tiber in the more tourist area. Restaurants cater to the locals as well as the tourists. We were never over charged, prices were great and the food spectacular from most of the eateries in the area. There is a full supermarket two minutes from the Hotel. The hotel itself was great. Staff are very helpful. They speak every language of Europe. The rooms are large, comfortable, well appointed and very clean. This was our fourth visit to Rome and our second stay at the Ripa Hotel. Breakfast at the Hotel is exceptional and of high quality. We will definitely be back for the hotel and the area.

Very Good!

The Ripa was very good. The rooms were clean and spacious. The Bathroom was clean and the tub/shower was powerful with plenty of hot water. The beds, although they looked small and the matress looked thin were VERY comfortable. The breakfast was very good except for 1 morning when a big group came to the hotel and took over the regular breakfast room. They moved it to a smaller smaller space and it just didn't come together at all.

Get a public transportation pass at one of the many "Tabbacci" stores. It is good for the trams, buses and most trains to the airport.

Stylish looks on the inside, outside

Stylish looks on the inside, outside look not so great. Breakfast was the best on our Italian trip, very good! Poor internet services: WIFI available at cost of € 5,- per 30 minutes!!! :-( Service good and location is super if you want to enjoy nearby Trastevere neighbourhood for wining and dining. Pleasant to have a balcony. Parking garage (paid) under the building. Would stay here again and go to internet cafe.

Clean Hotel with friendly and

Clean Hotel with friendly and helpful staff. The basic room we had was huge and included a kitchenette and a balcony. The location was great - Trastevere is a fantastic place. Plenty of traditional restaurants and bars. Would stay again. Although the breakfast is not up to much!
