- Area description
- The bay of Nerano-Sorrento is very famous in the area for the quality of the sea water (Blue Flag 2008 - 2009 - 2010). Is the nicest beach of Sorrento and Amalfi coast. It's an ideal place for start the boat tour to Capri island, to Amalfi and Positano, to the bay and the inslands of the sea park and for Pompei, Ercolaneum ruines and Naples city centre. It's also ideal to start the trekking and hiking along the Amalfi coast. Wonderful are the diving sites. By the Padi diving centre located inside the Nettuno, you can discover the underwater marine seapark and also try diving or make Padi dive courses.

Don't be fooled
Don't be fooled by this hotel. My wife and I booked a room for two days there, and had an awful experience. First of all, it isn't actually in Sorrento -- it's in a town about 45 to 60 min away. Second of all, it's not a luxury hotel as it is advertised to be -- it's actually a campsite with trailers you can rent and two actual rooms in an old tower to rent. The rooms hadn't been rented in so long that they had to play with the circuit breakers to get the electricity turned on. Also, there were no towels, there was no hot water, and the toilet didn't work. We spend a very uncomfortable night there and checked out the next morning. When we explained to the staff that this was not the three-star hotel we signed up for, they explained that they meant the area was three stars, not the hotel. We drove to another town and found a motel for only 80 euros a night that was far nicer than this place.

This is not a hotel - there are only 4 apartments in an old tower. The rest of the accommodation consists of cabins and camping spots for tents, trailers and RVs. Their facilities descriptions are very imaginative to the point of outright lying. In the cabins and apartments they change linens every seven days but you are not informed of this unless you ask. It may well be a great place for some, especially if they were properly informed, but we were extremely disappointed.

The rooms can use some upgrade
The rooms can use some upgrade that will make this hotel a lot more attractive. There is no maid service that makes it somewhat inconvenient. A major drawback is the lack of internet connection. Also the location although incredible in terms of views and vistas is very remote.
