Perfect Venice hideaway
Perfectly placed between the Rialto Bridge and St Marks, this delightful hotel had helpful staff, was attractively decorated, and a very generous breakfast till 10.30am. You could watch the gondolas go by while eating croissants. Really good value even at Carnival time. Two minor drawbacks - the subdued ambient lighting in the room, though attractive, made it hard to see what was in your suitcase, and we stayed in the annexe (charming) but there was a terrible smell of sewerage in the hall (though not in the room). We would go there again for sure.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Santo Stefano square claims to be the sunniest square in Venice and Le Cafe was the best food we had.

A nice small hotel located midway
A nice small hotel located midway between St Mark's Square and Rialto bridge, so location was ideal, however it was quite difficult to actually find the hotel. We walked right past it the first time. Anyone that's been to Venice will understand the difficulty in finding any address in Venice as the "streets" are just a zig-zag maze of little alley ways, but that also added to it's quaint appeal. Loved the little porched water taxi stop right on the back door (although water taxis are extremely expensive). Breakfast room was lovely, nice decor and a view directly out to a minor canal and bridge, although the breakfast was a bit limited, as continental style. All up, it was nice stay and would certainly recommend this hotel. John & Leonie

Our accommodation was actually
Our accommodation was actually in the annexe to the hotel but we did not find this at all a problem. In fact we really enjoyed our stay there. Although the room was a little on the small side, it was well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The location could not be faulted - in a beautiful street midway between the Grand Canal and St Marks Square. And as for breakfast in the charming dining room ? Quite simply it was fabulous - all you could hope for!

Nice hotel at 10 min walking distance
Nice hotel at 10 min walking distance to San Marco Square; this is the only advantage of this hotel; rooms are very small; if you want bigger rooms you must go for a 5 star hotel; the breakfast is ABOVE AVERAGE and very very good!

First, I'll start by saying
First, I'll start by saying the location of the hotel is wonderful. A Five minute walk from the Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. Now, onto the hotel. The pictures you see in the website of the rooms is NOT what you get. On check-in, we were greeted by the reception who acted like we were troubling him by checking in. The room we stared at when the door opened was no bigger than a jail cell. When we asked about the room and why it wasn't like the pictures on the website we were told it was because we didn't book through them we used a booking site The shower was the worst part of the entire experience. The water pressure was worse than anything i've ever seen in a hotel. I could have ran a hose from the canal, ciphened the water into the room and had better pressure than what the shower had. All in all, the hotel lacks in basic facilities, accomodations and customer service....unless you book through them at their prices and not an outside source.

Very good location in the central of Venice between San Marco and Rialto bridge. Breakfast is excellence. Strongly recommend this hotel and of course we'll return again on our next visit to Venice.

Amanda, of the travelling young couple
Bella Venezia
My boyfriend and I were traveling through several cities in Europe, and we chose Bella Venezia to house us in Venice. This was already going to be one of the nicer places we stayed during the trip [...] The staff was very helpful. Bella Venezia was out of the smaller rooms we had reserved, so we were placed in a much nicer suite for the same price (the suite at corte coppo). The room was comfortable, spacious, immaculate, and inspiring!Bella Venezia also offers a respectable free breakfast in the morning, consisting of eggs, prosciutto, cheeses, fruits, etc.The hotel is ideally situated near St Mark's. The whole island of Venice is easily navigable by foot. We traveled from district to district for sight seeing, food, and drinks. Restaurants in the St Mark's area do tend to be more expensive than in other districts. I recommend Dorsoduro (the student district) for more reasonably priced food and drinks.Overall we very much enjoyed our stay at Bella Venezia and in Venice. One last piece of advice- get a map. Venice was a challenge to navigate even for someone like me who considers myself very spatially adept. The Bella Venezia staff have can provide a free map that is better than a lot of the maps in travel books as it includes the small roads and alleys.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
As I mentioned before, Dorsoduro has the best deals on food and drinks. Also watch out for hidden costs while dining. Even restaurants with reasonably priced entrees include numerous charges for sitting out on their terrace, bread and water, service, and some overpriced drinks.
