The Hotel is situated in the heart of the romantic city of Venice, in a very quiet position despite the fact it is just 200 m from the beautiful St. Mark's Square and the famous Rialto Bridge. It is the ideal starting point to set off through the alleys to discover the wonderful monuments and typical shops which hide all the ancient, fascinating mysteries of Venice. The hotel takes its name from the famous Venetian artist, Antonio Canal, who was known as Canaletto. Those rooms where the artist used to live (1697-1768) have now become our elegant hotel rooms. A friendly, elegant, romantic and quiet atmosphere furnished in typical 18th century Venetian style, with stuccowork, damask, hand lacquered and gilded furniture, Murano glass mirrors and lamps. All rooms are soundproofed and have private bathroom with shower or bath, air conditioning, telephone, minibar, sat TV, hair dryer and safe. There are also our superior rooms with views of the canal or the typical square with the well-curb. The elegant public rooms (breakfast room, bar, TV room, internet point) are all decorated with stuccowork and the antique smoothed lime finish, and have some lovely reproduction of Canaletto's works on the walls.

A tax has been imposed by the city for stays beginning 1 October 2012, and will be collected directly at the property. The tax ranges from EUR 1 to EUR 5 per person, per night. The amount has been determined by the local administration, depends on the star rating of hotel and the season of travel. This tax does not apply from the 6th consecutive night of stay onwards, to residents of Venice City and children under 10 years of age. Please note that further exemptions may apply. Great for a night in venice

Loved This Hotel

My husband and I LOVED this hotel. It was a very nice boutique hotel centrally located between the Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. Hotel staff all spoke perfect English and were very helpful with maps and directions and the front desk had someone available 24 hours a day. Our room was large and clean and decorated in a Venetian style, though we could have used more closet space. The bathroom was modern and had a hair dryer. Breakfast each morning had a nice selection of foods (cheeses, meats, cold cereals, rolls, croisants,yogurt etc)and teas and coffee. There was enough of a selection to please most everyone. We would definitely recommend this hotel to other people.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

If you get a chance take a boat ride to Morano, Borano and Torcello Islands. Definitely worth the time.

Venice Italy, Canaletto Hotel

This hotel was beautiful. It is great for a single traveler that doesnt want to spend to much money. The staff was very helpful and told me how to get wherever I needed to go. This hotel is in walking distance(5mins) to St. Marks Square.

Shopping tip: Short walk from hotel

Shopping in Rialto is a lot less expensive than in St.Marks Square. There is a lot of the same stuff. Shop around for Murano Glass Jewelry. Chances are you will see huge price differences. The small snack stands that have pizza near the canaletto hotel are awesome.

EXELLENT SEJOURS

Hotel tres bien situé, au coeur de VENISE,propre ,bien insonnorisé ,petit dej correct, les moins..internet payant ,alors que dans tous les bars et restaurants c'est gratuit !! un ecran de television vraiment trop petit posé presque par terre !!!!!

exellent

très bon rapport qualité prix. Personnel prévenant, courtois, polis mais discret. Le seul petit bmol c'est qu'au moment de la réservation je n'ai pas pu préciser 1 lit deux personnes et nous avons eux une chambre avec des lit jumeaux. Il est très bien situé. SANDRINE

J'ai passé un agréable séjour à l'hotel CANALETTO chambre très propre et personnel disponible et emplacement idéal tout près du pont du Rialto et Place St Marco Prochain rendez-vous dans cet hôtel pour le carnaval au mois de février

Hôtel très correct

Hôtel très bien situé dans le centre de Venise. Très propre, impeccable. Petit déjeuner très correct. Attention, il faut éviter les chambres au-dessus du restaurant et ceci même en hiver. Le personnel est plus obséquieux que vraiment aimable et efficace.
