nice well kept secure place to stay
Not an all inclusive so once you embrace the local culture you are good to go. The staff was top notch. The rooms are nice although the beachside is the place to be. A great bang for the buck. Really cool rooms for singles to large groups.

"YES" Rondel Village, Negril
I just returned from 6 nights at the Rondel Village. Before I went I reviewed all the comments on this site and others. How do you make since of such reviews, who writes them, and what is their motivation. Each of us experiences and judges our vacations given certain expectations and circumstances. So how do we choose based on others peoples perceptions and reference point what will be good for us. I don't know. I do know the Rondel Village is an excellent place to stay given a variety of objectives. Location is most excellent, the rooms are clean, well maintained, and secure. We stayed in the LEMON room. Fantastic - good aircon, waterpressure, clean room, and right by the hot tub, pool, and beach. We were close to clubs, snorkeling, and good food. A taxi ride any where can be had from $3 to $5 US. We paid $60 US for a PRIVATE Taxi to negril. We were told is would be $100 nad other said we would never get a cheap ride. 3 minutes later we were on our way. We stopped at a HI LOW grocery store exchange money, bought red strip beer, snacks, and cokes. Yes people do try to sell you stuff all the time. That is the price of not living in a compound where you never seem the locals. The up side is you can have anything you want at Alice's Restaurant or any cabbie will steer you in the right direction depending on your vice. I really liked interacting with the locals and went spearfishing and snorkling. Be prepared to bargin and offer 1/2 whats asked they will take your money if you let go of it. Get advise from other loclas as to what thinks are worht. I cant tell you how many time I heard you can't get a ride for $3 US and then got one (every time lol) Bottom Line sign up for Rondel Village - Great value and quality people

Always tell the driver how much you will pay to go somewhere. Settle it before you get in the cab. Never pay more the $5US for a ride anywhere up and down the 7 mile beach.

The good and the bad
The hotel doesn't have fancy services but it's clean and the staff is helpful and kind. Overall, I think Jamaica is not cheap compared to other similar destinations so Rondel Village can help to stay in the budget with decent quality/price ratio

Would not stay there again.
Never will stay there again. Our room was next to a very noicey and busy road. Asked to change and still got another room next to the road. Moved again and got the only room without a balcony on site. Bar and dining so so. Nice beach area with many other places close to enjoy a good meal and a few drinks. [...] we did have a nice trip and had know problem with our flight going or returning. Hotel could have stepped up and gave us a better room which would have made our trip one of the best.

Perfect mix of relaxation and scene
We decided not to do all inclusive, since I read (correctly) that the patties and roadside jerk stands are better than any high priced meal in Jamaica anyway. Rondel is in the center of 7 mile beach, but has a sandy courtyard so if you want to recede from the vendors you can do so. We met many loyal return customers and I could see why. Everything was clean, the grounds were quiet compared to others we saw walking the beach. We got Red Stripe at the Shamrock grocery and used our mini fridge to store juice and fruit purchased on the beach. Oh - they say Wifi is available, but it is not free - $20 for your stay or $3 for 15 minute computer cafe access in the lobby, not a big deal, but I had thought it was free. Anyway, everyone was friendly and looked out for us. And visit Delroy at the bar and have him make you his special rum drink!

Lovely Staff, Great Location & Service
Couldn't ask for a better location or nicer people. Francine and Novene at the desk had lots of inside tips about dining...such as: Rock House, Push Cart and Kuyaba will send free taxi to pick you for dinner (only pay the driver a tip!) Just a short walk to Charela for wonderful breakfast each day, next to Mariposa for dinner. The fruit lady comes by each day with fresh fruit, she'll cut it up for you! Norman comes by with pattis (veg and meat) for a perfect light lunch, parasail company will send free shuttle to the beach to pick you up! Great value all around.

peaceful good location- rating 3.5
was there for rest and relaxation- did not want to do anything- just to enjoy the area- no one bother me only issue I had -2 areas of hotel rooms they are infront of the beach and across the street they need to let people aware instead of saying the garden view(this is across the street)you have to walk across the street to the other hotel -please note security walks with you with a stop sign - however the place was keep clean and beautiful- the staff was nice and not overbearing-the food was ok - only one mishap- but rate the place 8 out of 10 will certainly stay there if the price is the same next year

wonderful place for couples
well lets go!!! when we arrived it was raining cats and dogs and we arrived before the check in time. the hotel allowed us to check in early that was a plus. the villa that we stayed in was very nice and spacous for couples lovely atmosphere and pretty privite due to the lushous greenery growing around the wrap around patio and hot tub area.the staff was very polite but [...] was outstanding she had a smile on her face everytime we saw her.she took care of any of our needs.she keep our villa clean and the lady can cook.so big ups to [...]. the hotel has a small outside dinning and bar area it's not to bad the food was ok too. even though the island was hit with a couple of days of bad weather before we got there once it stoped raining it would have been nice it they tried to clean up the beach a little at lease in front of thier property.the native of island are up and down the beach trying to sell you something in most cases a no thank you will do if your not buying.there's different things to do and places to go on the beach something for everyone.if you want to relax and lay back this is the place for you.not a lot to due at the hotel but very beautiful and peaceful.
