Lovely and comfortable
Niwa Hotel was in the middle of the city, so it made traveling a breeze. It was a little difficult to find from the map provided, but it was lovely once we found it. The bed was super comfortable and the large tub was quite relaxing. The staff was polite and knowledgeable.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
The easiest way to get to the hotel is to go out of Suidobashi Station and turn right. You will be walking in the opposite direction of the Dome City. Keep walking until you see the 24hour Yoshinoya on the corner, about 2 1/2 blocks from the station. Turn left, crossing the street, and go straight until you see Hotel Niwa on your left.

Fulfill my Tokyo vacation by staying here
Prior to my arrival I was written to the hotel asking for non-smoking floor and high floor. I was arrived on Wednesday 5 Dec 12 afternoon and found the check-in process was very efficient, they have provided what I have requested. Staffs are speaking good English.. Room was very comfortable and very decorated with care in every single detail. You will have a pyjamas that the hotel changes daily for you. Next to the hotel is the convenience store where you can get some good snacks, soft drinks, and ice creams whenever you want. After a short walk (turn your back on the hotel, walk left 50m, and turn left again then walk another 100m, then cross the road) you will reach JR Suidobashi station where you can easily reach Shinjuku, Akiba (Akihabara), or Tokyo station within 15 minutes including any transit if required. Just across the station located McDonald's (24/7) and Staarbucks (open until 10.30pm), Tokyo Dome, and Suidobashi subway station. This is an ideal place to stay for. I have been staying for five nights, and surely I will return to this hotel for my next visit.

Go to the hotel's gym room and utilize the massage chairs after your long walk during the day. It was very very relaxing. The gym room was closed at 10pm but actually you can stay a little longer.

Hotel Niwa, Tokyo. October, 2012
Great location. My standard room was fine. Not much of a gym facility, probably not worth the space used for it. Daily maid cleaning was good. I was there for 10 nights on business. Easy location for business associates to meet. Restaurant was good - upscale Japanese. The hotel is generally quiet and subdued. Some frontdesk staff are a little too reserved and unresponsive - sometimes a little too much cold Japanese stare and not enough smile. Will return.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
This hotel is in the bookselling district of Tokyo. Miles and miles of booksellers (used and new, the vast majority in Japanese) in the immediate vicinity.

Tokyo Stay
Good hotel, clean, nice staff and reliable. Would be nice to have breakfast in the hotel however it is super expensive. Close to train station, safe area, 7 eleven near b for money exchange and choco-ru for morning breakfast. No complaints, good experience. Rooms are pretty small but I guess that is standard in japan. Dont bring huge luggages because there isnt a place to put them.

Fantastic Place
The Hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from Suidobashi JR Station, East Exit. I went with my girlfriend and we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel. Peaceful and silent, warm staff, always ready to help. Just by the hotel you have a small market. Cleanliness all around, beautiful rooms, but a little bit "compact" for the european standards, anyway, no matter about that at the standard room. Complimentary water at the refrigerator and plenty of ammenities at the bathroom. THe Hotel also hosts a relax room and gym. Everything ran perfect with the staff. The Hotel entrance is realxing, with a small urban garden and a Zen style waterrun. The Hall always smell like an Spa, really charming. The location of the hotel is really nice, at Chiyoda City, where you can find plenty of coffee shops and local izakayas and noodle restaurants. As i wrote before, close to the JR station called Suidobashi, only 2 stops from Akihabara, where you can take the Yamanote line, or other metro lines as the Ginza one..... I won´t doubt to go back again when i return to Tokyo. Niwa is perfect for a couple doing some tourism at the city. Hihgly recommended.

Just 2 minutes from the Hotel, at the big avenue leading to the JR Station, you can find some small restaurants where you can have a nice lunch time.

Cozy room, free Wi-Fi, and friendly staff that largely spoke English
I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights. The room was a bit small but not bad for one person. They had free wi-fi and free bottles of water in the mini-fridge. The restaurant's breakfast was pretty pricy at 2,300 yen and most of its staff did not speak English well. Overall it was comfortable, convenient, and a nice stay.

Overall Nice Hotel
Hotel Niwa is conveniently located near a subway station. The hotel rooms and common areas are very clean and modern. However, the rooms are relatively small as compared to Western hotels. The restaurant food is extremely expensive, so it is more economical to eat elsewhere. The hotel also does not have an exercise room. The staff seems very willing to help and is friendly.

Great Value
This hotel is in a fairly central location, about 5 minutes from the Suidobashi subway station and ten minutes from the Jimbocho Subway station. It is a bit difficult to find at first unless you know exactly where you are going but if the location on google maps is accurate so if you follow that you'll find it. For what I paid, the value was extraordinary. The room was fairly small but it had numerous amenities, including excellent free wireless Internet access, free bottled water in the fridge, a nice bathroom with bathrobes, lots of lighting, lots of power outlets for cameras, iPads, phones, etc. It was clean, had modern furniture, etc. Most of the television stations were in Japanese but CNN and BBC World were available, and who travels halfway across the world (from New York in my case) to watch television? The service was friendly and I would definitely recommend this for a budget traveler. The restaurants seemed a bit expensive but there are so many restaurants near the hotel and throughout Tokyo that I had no interest in eating there anyway.
