The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, but as with most things there, everything just looks a little worn, a little rough around the edges, not quite new. It's no holiday inn express, but it's secure and clean enough for your average budget-concerned traveler.

Decent value, nothing fancy

Everything worked as expected. The rooms are not big but quite nice. The gym is small but has decent facilities. The Travellers' restaurant was surprisingly nice; I would definitely recomment giving it a try. There is nothing spectacular about the hotel but its all around quite good.

Great deal for the money

This is right downtown in city center so it is a good location. Food, spa and room were great. The only suggestion I would make if you're looking to book here is to request a room on as high a floor as you can. We were on the 3rd and it was uncomfortably loud from the downtown hustle.

The Sarova Stanley is an interesting departure from your big brands. Too large to qualify as a boutique hotel. But unique and interesting. The service is all-around is excellent. Comfortable, large room. Everything is spotless. The Thai restaurant is great if a bit pricey. Breakfast is very pleasant. Workout room is quite adequate. I found the staff to be very responsive to any request. I made a complaint about the music in the pool restaurant and they were falling over themselves trying to figure out how to satisfy me. Highly recommended.

The big outdoor pool is surrounded by sun loungers and guests can order drinks from here. The hotel is surrounded by well landscaped gardens which provides a respite from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi. Very much a 60's building, this is a purpose built 3 storey hotel with balconies dominating the long narrow structure on both sides and is painted white. Sentrim Boulevard is located at the end of Nairobi's Harry Thuku Road, close to the Convention centre and the city's main attractions. The airport is 18 kms away.

The staff are great and helpful, for the price, in Africa, it is well appointed, very conveniently located, lovely windows that bring a cool breeze in over a well tended garden with the sounds of a creek running by which is great till the mosquitoes come, there is no mosquito netting on the windows, the room isn't mozzie proof & there are no mosquito nets, couldn't even pull the top shed over my head because there wasn't one, so it was either cook under a dooner or put up with the mozzies. Spoilt what should have been a great stay. The bed was a tad hard when you couldn't sleep as well. The staff were great.

Very pleasant, except late c/out policy

Be aware that most flights going to Europe leave late evening, hotel policy is be out of your room at 10-00am or pay 50% of rack rate to extend to 6-00pm. Only complaint, everything else was very good.

This is a good clean budget hotel in the heart of the capital. The rooms are of a good standard and there is Wifi throughout the building as well as 24 hour security and CCTV cameras in all public areas. There is a small courtyard in the centre of the building where guests can enjoy a coffee or a snack form the restaurant. A modern 3 storey building. In the heart of the city in the bustling River Road, Hotel Kipepeo is close to the city's main train station and 10 minutes from Kenyatta International Conference Centre.

The hotel had a clean room with a comfortable bed and a fan. The breakfast (included) was good in the morning. Security seemed to be good, and a staff person voluntarily walked us about 6 blocks to where we caught a bus to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, which was very helpful as we would not have known where the bus station was. It was a good value.

Dreadful Place!!!!

Booked this hotel based on price, and we got what we paid for!!! A real dump!! No where did it explain in [...]review that there were different ranges of rooms, so we got a standard room with no TV, thinking all rooms had TV's. When we requested another room with a TV we were told they were all booked. Bathroom was teeny-tiny with a teeny-tiny sink and shower not much more than a drain hole in the floor with a curtain. Shower flooded the floor in more than half the bathroom. Black stuff on the ceiling could have been mold or just dirt. Window had almost a 1/2 opening on the bottom that could have been caulked to let out city dirt, noise, mosquitoes. Toilet leaked when flushed. Room was adequate with two twin beds and a blanket that was so heavy it felt like you were buried in sand. Mattress was quite hard, pillow okay - although two would have been nice. Mosquito nets were really dirty and I hated to pull it over myself fearing dirt inhalation, but felt compelled to because of mosquitoes. The second floor room was on the side street and between the traffic noise, noise from the restaurants and shops on the street and then the construction noise, I was grateful that I had a really good pair of ear plugs. Staff was not helpful or friendly, and made us feel very unwelcome. They even seemed irritated with our questions or request for directions or help. The outside security guard was more friendly then any of them. The manager even appeared a few times and not only never acknowledged us, but never once asked if there was anything we needed Even though we prepaid with a credit card through [...], the reception desk still requested payment ahead of time. They keep track of who is registered in a book by date. So much for technology. Have no intentions of ever staying at this establishment or in Nairobi again!!

I spent one night at Laico while in transit. I had chosen the hotel because of the complimentary internet connectivity and gym facility. The standard double room turned out to be nicer than I expected given the low rate that I got. I really wished I could stay longer. The hotel has a great gym with steam room and jacuzzi that guests can use free of charge. I really enjoyed the opportunity of relaxing after a long flight. The only problem I had was the food. There are 2 main restaurants at the hotel, one proposing an international cuisine with a creamy pompous menu and the Italian one. I chose the latter and the food was barely OK. So, my suggestion: eat out if you can!
