Shabby 4-star hotel
Sorry to say, but this hotel would qualify as a decent 2-star at best, if it were compared with European standards. The staff is friendly, the rooms are clean. This is why I rated it with 2 stars. Everything else badly needs a thorough refit. Disappointing.

Decent value, nothing fancy
Everything worked as expected. The rooms are not big but quite nice. The gym is small but has decent facilities. The Travellers' restaurant was surprisingly nice; I would definitely recomment giving it a try. There is nothing spectacular about the hotel but its all around quite good.

Great place
I enjoyed my stay in the Hilton Nairobi. It included a full cook to order egg breakfast with lots of sides. Nice pool and workout room. I was just there overnight as I was waiting for my air connection.

5 star prices, 3 star service
Breakfast bar was not hot, barely warm. The staff did not cancel our "preauthorized" deposit as promised. We had to remind them to do it at checkout. The food was OK, except for eggshell in the omelet and seriously overpriced. This hotel is generally much more expensive that comparable hotels in Accra, Cairo, and Dar. I would not recommend it. The positives are that right across the street you can get good, inexpensive chicken and fries and internet.

Skip the restaurant and go local. You can get good pizza, chicken, soft drinks, etc. across the street.

Great location, good facilities
Great location, good facilities and service. We were offered a pol-side room which we declined due to potential noise and were upgraded to an Executive Room. On departure I had some problems with opening the room safe which malfunctioned and as a result missed my flight. However, the hotel management was supportive and provided additional free accommodation until I was able to re-schedule my flight and depart.

Peace in Nairobi
Coming into a strange country alone, unaware of what I was to find, I arrived at Nairobi Hilton and was greeted with such helpful assistants at the steps. Bags were graciously carried in, the reception desk personnel greeted my with smiles and all information I needed. I quickly arrived in my more-than basic hotel room. Everything was neat and clean with a comfortable bed, adequate towels and bathroom accessories, although there could of been an outlet in the bathroom. Phone costs to U.S. were adequate. Downstairs there was a lovely place to eat, with a good waite staff and excellent buffet. There was a bank in the lobby for exchange to shillings. The security was excellent, in both coming in and going out. There was a shopping area in the hotel with excellent variety and the area directly around hotel with safe with many great shops. Check out was friendly and efficient. My bags were watched by the doormen until my ride arrived. On my return stay there before leaving for the Sates, they stored my purchases ahead of time and were waiting on my arrival, safe and undamaged. In conclusion, I loved the Hilton In Nairobi. Thank you Nairobi Hilton for a wonderful experience for my first night in Africa!
