Renovation work took several years to complete, as the architect took great pains to preserve as much of the original seventeenth-century structure as possible. Once completed, the architect collaborated with an award-winning designer to plan the interior, which blends original period details-like authentic wall paintings, a wooden staircase, and porcelain woodstoves-with modern design elements, such as top-of-the-line bathroom fixtures, custom-made furniture, an outdoor terrace and hanging garden, and a collection of original oil paintings.
